I've never actually played the HL series, but it seems to have one hell of a following. If I were Valve, I would seriously worry that HL3 wouldn't live up to the hype. For some gamers I've seen on GS, I'm pretty sure it couldn't possibly live up to the expectations cooked up by a 10+ year waiting period.
