BlaZer91's Top 10 Countdown: My Top 10 Most anticipated games of 2011

Last year had many impressive titles but this year it's bringing out some extremely outstanding titles along with the release of Nintendo's new 3DS console. These are my choices of the Most anticipated games of 2011, the games that I would kill to get my hands on as I can't wait to play them.

10. Duke Nukum Forever (X-Box 360, PlayStation 3, PC)

Duke Nukem Forever

After so many years in the making and with so many teaser trailers later we finally get a release date for the long awaited Duke Nukem Forever. Many fans have waited an entire decade for the Alien squashing bad ass to return in fall 3d but never happened before. At the reviled new trailer this year most of the game play looks epic and enjoyable. It shows off the huge boss monsters, impressive dual weilding and plenty of Sex appeal. We just hope that the wait ends and if the entire wait was even worth it. If so then welcome back Duke we sure have missed you.

9. Uncharted 3 Drake's Deception (PlayStation 3)

uncharted 3

2 Years ago Uncharted 2 ended up as being one of the big titles on the PlayStation 3. Now Drake returns for a third time to explore the world to such places like the dangerous desserts and pillars in search for a legendary lost city. The Gameplay includes new features including uncharted backward climbing and being able to fight multiple enemies at once. By the trailers it promises to be as amazing as the previous games and the new features and Multiplayer modes should look impressive.

8. Deus Ex Human Revolution (X-Box 360, PlayStation 3, PC)

Deus ex Human Revolution

The third in the series but this time not done by the same people who did the previous games. When the trailer showed up it showed off new Gameplay tweaks and new Augmentations that add stealth elements of Gameplay. The storyline in the game will follow as a prequel to the original game. It may promise to be a impressive looking prequel and I wonder if the new developers for this game will do great with it.

7. Portal 2 (X-Box 360, PlayStation 3, PC)

Portal 2

The original game was quite an entreating First person puzzle game where it was interesting to transport from one area to the next using the Portal gun along with it's hilarious humor. The sequel continues to show off different and challenging levels using the portal gun. The sequel is bringing in the new co-operative mode where both players can solve puzzles together. With the original being an outstanding puzzler we can expect this one to be impressive.

6. Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword (Nintendo Wii)

skyward sword

Although it had a disappointing show off at E3 2010 Skyward sword such be as good as the older Zelda games. Using the Motion Plus controls will enhance the controls adding one to one controls with the players sword and the Wii remote. There's new toys for Link to use as the Mechanical flying beetle which you can grab items from a distance, a whip and also including the series usual like the Bow, Slingshot and Bombs. There's also a stamina meter which will be used to sprint up hills and also an interesting thing is that drinking potions no longer interrupt which seems nice. We should just hope that the final release will meet our expectations unlike the showing at E3.

5. Marvel VS Capcom 3 (X-Box 360, PlayStation 3)

Marvel VS Capcom 3

It's been over 10 years since popular Marvel and Capcom heroes duked it out against each other. Now Marvel VS Capcom 3 is looking to bring over new heroes and villains from each universes to save their worlds from Doctor Doom and Albert Wesker. Theirs new faces being added to the roster showing a total of 36 available characters at full retail with 2 DLC Characters, The game will feature a simple mode where you can pull off combos more easily at the cost of limiting your character's move-list, Mission mode which requires players to accomplish different goals during battles. There's also a Shadow mode where players can face off against a series of downloadable packs of AI Opponents programmed after any techniques and preferences from Capcoms staff. We can look forward to playing this and blasting our living rooms and online play for months to come.

4. Mass Effect 3 (X-Box 360, Windows, PlayStation 3)

Mass Effect 3

The second game was quite a commercial success and also got a chance of being on a PlayStation system. In the third game of Mass Effect we can look forward to the continuation of the story of Shepard and we can hope if there will be anything new will be included to the package we will find out soon.

3. The Last Guardian (PlayStation 3)

The last guardian

Since ICO and Shadow of the Colossus being brilliant exclusives for the PlayStation The last Guardian puts you as a boy who has to care for the pet monster named Trico as the creature can be used to solve different puzzles. There's going to be an attachment between the boy and the creature. Nothing else is revealed about the game but we will have to find out if this guardian is the beast like it's PS2 installments.

2. Gears of War 3 (X-Box 360)

Gears of War 3

The war against the Locust is still raging on and everything getting desperate for humanity. Could Marcus and his COG forces even have a chance to end the war and hope that something of earth that is left to save. The gamplay will reveal new weapons like a Double Barrel Shotgun, The Pendulum War Era Lancer with a bayonet attached and a Digger Launcher which fires explosive Diggers. There's new multiplayer online called Beast mode which is the opposite of Horde mode where the player instead attacks COG members as Locust. Tokens are earned for killing enemies, allowing the player to upgrade their character to a stronger Locust. Gears of War 3 will also include the multiplayer modes included in the second game but each game has a different twist into them. We can hope that we can end the war against the Locust soon before Humanity is wiped out completely. By it's final release date it's to load up our Lancers once again.

1. The Elder Scrolls V Skyrim (X-box 360, PlayStation 3, PC)

TESVS

Welcome back to the land of the Elder Scrolls. The fifth game's trailer revealed a new storyline to the table and also the website revealed the new in world language and dragon language which should useful in the games story. Although the trailer did not reveal anything else but we can expect the familiar gameplay from Oblivion including the main story quest, subquests and different guildquests to boost your fame. To hardcore RPG fans Skyrim might just be a big improvement of a already impressive RPG title of 2006. We can only hope as this game is my pick for the Most Anticipated Game of 2011.

BlaZer91's Top Ten Countdown The Top 10 PlayStation Games

BlaZer91's Top Ten Countdown

The Top 10 PlayStation Games

The PlayStation was a successful games system that changed the gaming industry forever with a huge library of games, 2 newer PlayStation consoles as well as a handheld. The PlayStation will forever be a legendary console that has kicked off massive sales of the market and has also toke gaming to a new generation. To celebrate it's 15th Anniversary since September 29, 1995 I am here to give you my list of the following 10 PSOne games that I think were worthy of serving the consoles legacy, so pick up that Dual Shock and put on that PlayStation Fan T-Shirt as this is my list of for the Top 10 PSOne games.

10. Resident Evil 2 (Capcom 1998 )

Resident Evil 2

Resident Evil 2 improved on many concepts of the original and made it simply better. It had 2 different discs containing 2 different stories between playable characters Leon S Kennedy or Claire Redfield. Added weapons to the arsenal for disposing more Zombies like a Gatling gun and a Flaming crossbow. Alongside some new content for completing the game and a far twisted storyline which was far more engaged then the original with multiple endings. Leon himself differently became one of the series superstar since this game's debut and also his return in Resident Evil 4. Gamers still call this one the best of the original PlayStation Resident evil games. If only we could replay this game with enhanced graphics in HD on the PS3.

9. Tekken 3 (Namco 1998 )

Tekken 3

The Tekken series is known for it's fighting system which require self timing attacks to order to win against many fighters, but the third game in the series was the best of the 3 PlayStation Tekken titles features more bigger list of fighters, a new set of modes like Tekken force and Tekken Ball modes but the title was almost close to the arcades original details with only the rendering of the environments to be a bit stiff. With it's high review scores and amazing sales Tekken 3 is still one of the best fighting games to be released on the PlayStation and also still manages to hold up nicely today with new installments on HD consoles.

8. Final Fantasy VII (Squresoft 1997)

Final Fantasy 7

To many hardcore RPG gamers Final Fantasy VII was believed to be one of the greatest of the PlayStation Final Fantasy games. Looking back at this game now it's hard to look at because of the blocky character models. Even so Final Fantasy VII was the first game to use cinematic elements in which the storyline grew a lot of praise from many gamers that often reduced them to tears. With the orginal feel of the Active Time Battle system and making use of different Materia to give characters different abilities to use either magic, summon huge monsters and use different enemy skills to fight against many different monsters and the Shinera Corporation. If a remake of this all time Final Fantasy remake is ever going to be planned then perhaps it's not really a good idea if Square Enix is going to mess up the series badly with 11, 10-2, 12, 13 and 14. If so Square Enix better get it right and properly.

7. Command and Conquer (Westwood Studios 1996)

C&C

The PC Strategy game made that made futher population of the Strategy genre, it made a great translated effort to the PlayStation console. Even through there's no mouse support but inculding 2 discs with 2 different sides in a conflict for tiberium. The gameplay also has a Covert operations which revail a different part of the story. With each side using their own different set of different structures and weapons to use against the opposing team. It's a difinative port of the game and the orginal game still remains as one of the finest Strategy games on the PlayStation.

6. Time Crisis (Namco 1997)

Time crisis

In the arcades Time Crisis was popular and superior among other Rail Shooters at the time. It's impressive time based and Duck and Cover gameplay was never heard of before this game. It's translates brilliantly with another story mission with Kantaris including multiple paths to follow depending on the time spent on the level and also the birth of the G-Con 45 controller accessory. Time Crisis still holds up being the champion of arcade rail shooters around but now if we could find someway to reuse the Light gun for the PS3 on HD TVs.

5. Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped (Naughty Dog 1998 )

Crash Bandicoot 3

Crash Bandicoot has quite the humor for a 3D platfromer but his 3rd installment had much more content and was more improved then the previous 2 games. The game allowed the player to control not only Crash but his sister Coco travel back in time to find 25 Crystals again but also play different Time Attack missions each with Crash spinning his way through numerous new enemies and avoiding hazardous new traps. With new bosses to face, loads of rewards to collect along thw way and Crash digging out a rocket launcher to blast ememies is just wonderful. Crash Bandicoot 3 is defiently on the best selling games in the series and it's still a well worth challening Crash Bandicoot game and my pick for the 5th game in the countdown.

4. Gran Turismo (Sony 1997)

gran turismo

Back then there wasn't any driving simulators around but not with Gran Turismo. Much like Sega's Daytona games Gran Turismo made a complete driving experience to console players with options to chose from a set of real life licenses of cars available and realistic driving controls. Also included is the Grand Turismo mode in which you complete different goals in which you can upgrade your license to qualify for any events and championships. These allow you to earn credits, trophies and prize cars for you to use. With over 180 realistic cars and 11 race tracks it's easy to say that Grand Tourismo is still one fine racing thats stands the test of time to this day.

3. Tomb Raider (Core Design 1996)

Tomb Raider

For many video games there hasn't been any video game heroines to enter the 3rd Dimension of gaming. That wasn't until Lara Croft herself made herself in to the gaming world with an innovative 3-D adventuring gameplay experince unlike Prince of Persia before this. Lara herself had to travel around different Tombs and explore deadly runes to search for the pieces of the tailsmen called the Scion. Lara had to climb up, push or pull blocks or use switches to solve many of the games challenging puzzles. Lara also faces dangerous enemies as she will have to resort using different guns like her Twin Pistols, Shotguns or Uzis in order for her to survive. As a platforming adventure game it's impressive that how well the game had selled back then and the orginal game can still hold up as well as it's well made remake on next generation consoles and in HD.

2. Final Fantasy IX (Squresoft 2000)

Final Fantasy 9

If many could think Final Fantasy VII was outstanding and Final Fantasy VIII was just a total waste then simply Final Fantasy IX is vastly Superior then the other two games. By revisiting it's true origin XI ignored the useless Junction system and annoying problems it had. Instead it introduced new equipment mechanics that can change different attributes and stats increases upon leveling up, Areas which make use of the new Active Time Events which develop character development, special items and keys for different story telling decisions to make. The game's ATB Battle system is additive is ever but also it introduced a different overlimit setting called Trance where characters can unleash a powerful attack and their stats increased briefly for a short time. With everything from the Final Fantasy staples returning and a great storyline this fantasy is the best of the Final Fantasy PlayStation games and the one that manages to stand tall after these years.

1. Metal Gear Soild (Konami 1998 )

Metal Gear Soild

Sneaking by undetected, hiding in cardboard boxes in attempt to sneak by lazy solders was never heard of before maybe until the original Metal Gear released on the Japanese MSX along with the inferior NES port. This game introduced many different stealth elements in which Snake had to get by undetected. Snake had to use different items to fool the enemy or to take them out stealthily. Snake also needed to use the environment to his ad such as crawling under different spaces as it's helpful to get away from enemies. The game also had it's epic boss battles against Revolver Ocelot, Sniper Wolf, Psycho Mantis, Vulcan Raven and the main villain Liquid. The game had some of the most amazing and tearbreaking cinematic cutscenes that drew out many of the games amazing characters. It's concepts, gameplay and everything else as what made it one of greatest games that introduced stealth elements thats still going on to this day and as it's remake on the Gamecube was a well devloped remake. The game is just a fine example of being able to hold itself up today as it's my choice for the PlayStation one title.

BlaZer91's Count Down The top 10 Worst Video game Consoles

BlaZer91's Top 10 Countdown

The Top 10 Worst Video game consoles.

Unless you or your family relatives never knew what a game console design was then you'll remember the horrible memories of the following consoles. This list contains some of the horrible list of machines that has taken your hard earned wallets and blended the gaming industry. This nightmare comes from bad design, bad games and bad business from the consoles standpoint. You may never see a countdown like this on my Gamespot account as this is my list of the worst and most offensive gaming machines in all of gaming.

10. Atari Lynx (1989 Atari)

Atari's handheld console that tried to compete with Nintendo's Game Boy system but also it's named after a cat instead. It maybe the first handheld to use colour but the system drains a lot of batteries faster then the Gameboy. The consoles is harder to see from most angles so you'd have to tilt it to get a better view. The system is also incredibly bulky which makes it hard to hold even with the new design model. The console failed to sell well in comparison and there was no third party support and the console was eventually abandoned making this Atari's little handheld a failed competitor to the Gameboy.

9. Virtual Boy (JP July 21st 1995, NA August 14th 1995 Nintendo) (Never released in Europe)

Continuing the success of the Gameboy, the creator Gunpei Yokoi made the system that would give gamers a virtual reality feel, but however the consoles deign had a really awkward stand which makes it difficult to play it in a position, the consoles technology limited the colours to red and black and even worse that there's warnings that it can cause stiff necks, headaches and eyestrain, this simply makes the console unhealthy to play on. There were only 14 games known to be released in the US with most are simply Gameboy games with gimmicky 3d effects. Although Warioland was okay but those games you might as well be better be playing on Gameboy instead. Thus the console was dropped several months following and thus the reason why this console was never released in Europe before.

Virtual Boy Console

8. N-Gage (October 7 2003 Nokia)

A handheld console designed by Nokia that would be used as both a phone and as a game system. But however the system bumped down with numerous issues. The screen was to tall then it was wide, many of the games are poorly botched ports of great games other then Pocket Kingdom and Pathway to Glory. If you needed to change a game you'd need to switch out the battery as the game slot was next the battery cover which is annpying. Also holding the console and speaking to it simply makes it into a Taco-phone. The newer designed model resolved most of the consoles issues but however the N-Gage service was limited and as of 2010 the service have been shut down for good.

N-gage console

7. 3DO (October 4th 1993 Parasonic)

An expensive console sold at a price tag of $699.95 in the US that the PlayStation 3's first launch could compare with. The console only had one controller port so if you want to play with a friend you'd have to plug the other controller into the first to just chain them together. Games came in Jewel cases but they were placed in unnecessary boxes which makes it harder to place on your shelf. The console had it's library of a few good ports of arcade games and a set mediocre titles with poor FMV quality. The console lacked any copy protection and region coding, but the games worth stealing where already available on other systems. The 3DO was eventually outmatched by the superior PlayStation system and the infamous title Plumbers don't wear Ties shall continue to spoof the Internet of it's awful quality.

3do console

6. Atari Jaguar (November 18 1993)

Numbers could compare with other systems on the market while other consumers would rant on about their bits on their hardware, Atari's Jaguar Console in 1993 was prompted as the first 64-Bit console which was 4x the bits more than the Mega Drive and Super Nintendo. Old advertisements told gamers to do the math and see how the 64-Bit capabilities would outmatch it's other competitors. However the console failed due to it's numerous issues such as faulty processors, short third party support and a ridiculous controller with with a keypad. The system had some of the worst exclusives of all time like "White Men can't Jump", but the only worthwhile games Alien vs Predator and Tempest 2000. How else could a system like this spawn a CD addon which wouldn't work at all causing the the infamous Red Screen of Death. Thus the system suffered with bad sales of the market which got Atari off the console race.

Atari Jaguar Console

5. Philips CD-I (December 3rd 1991)

A console which spent a lot of time in development, Phillips created it's own console which would have brought new meaning to the media. The CD-I had share of many educational games as well as many FMV quality games like Dragon's Lair and Mad Dog Mccree. The controllers were awkward to handle including the wireless remote which has buttons clustered all over the joystick and your fingers can keep slipping off. The main controller port is located at the back of the console which is unbelievable and it's a pain to have to switch controllers when you need to pull out the console. The biggest mistake that could ever happen is when there was a deal between Nintendo and Philips to create a CD based add-on for the Super Nintendo which never came through but Philips had permission from Nintendo to use some of the Nintendo Franchises. This resulted in an awful Mario game and 3 awful Zelda games which spawned infamous tragedies and Youtube poops which will forever haunt the Internet.

4. Sega Mega-Drive add-ons (Mega-CD, Sega Multi-Mega, Mega 32X)

Sega is sure technical with their addons for the Mega drive, including one which allows you to play Master System games on it and a Sonic and Knuckles lock on cartridge which gives Sonic games additional features. However with the Mega Drive aging Sega decided to increase the life span of the Mega-Drive by making the Mega CD addon. Dispute celebrity Dana Plato's appearance in the awful Night Trap it's interactive entry failed with bad FMV quality games and many where just unplayable. When the console began to fall on it's face dispute the amazing Sonic CD Sega released the Multi-Mega, the machine included all the funcionallity of the Mega Drive and the Mega CD into one unit. The ultimate mistake was selling it for £350, that's £50 more then having to buy the machines separately. For the same reasons the Multi-Mega failed only for it to be followed up by another failure the Mega Drive 32x. This one was a cartridge based addon that plugs into the Mega Drives cartridge slot. It might have featured 32 Bit processing but only 40 games where released before the console fell into decline when the Saturn was released in Japan. With the Sega saturn on it's way gamers found out it was defintaily better to just wait and thus the Mega Drive addons gets it's spot for number 4 in this countdown.

3. R-Zone (1995 Tiger Electronics)

Tiger Electronics have always have bad mini-games to cash in including the Game.com which sucked so bad, but those where nothing comparison to their failed attempt at virtual reality. Enter the R-Zone which is an LCD handheld games system which proberbly would have looked like a PlayStation 5. It had two different models first one was a capitalize on the Virtual boy with a ridiculous headgear design and an X.P.G model which was more handheld. The system barfed down with numerous issues such as not being able to adjust the volume other than muting it, loads of buttons in which not many of them are unneeded like the ON button since the game starts when you insert the game in. With horrible sound and music and a glut of bad games. The R-Zone failed to sell in markets in comparison to the gameboy and this resulted in putting Tiger Electronics into bankruptcy.

R-Zone console

2. Atari 5200 (November 1982 Atari)

With increased competitions between the Intelevision and ColecoVision going against the 2600 In 1982 Atari released the Atari 5200. The console design was huge making it take up alot of room and also it has a door on it for some reason. The console's biggest mistake is making the TV and AC adapter to share the same connection port making it harder to connect the console. It wasn't compatiable with Atari 2600 games even though it wasn't a concern at the time. It also suffered with a line up of re-released titles and having the most hated controller of all time. Sure the controller had some innovations for it's time like the 360 degree Joystick and a Pause button but the controller had keypads on it and also the Joystick was faulty that it would brake within several hours of play. The console's marketing failed miserably with little attention and overall effort that Atari put into the console.
Atari 5200

1. Gizmondo (19th March 2005 Telematics)

Being the worst selling console of all time it's hard to imagine a console selling for about £229. The console may have allowed you to take pictures, store music and video, send and receive e-mails and also come packaged with a funcional GPS system. However with a dreadful battery life, a screen that's really bad to look at along with most have games like Stickyballs and a few rubbish ones. The console forced you to watch 3 commercials a day and console crashes every now and then. I find it unbelievable that this console was actally overshadowed by executive Stefan Eriksson who was linked by organised crime, making this console my choice for the Worst Console of all time.
