@DeadPhoenix86: If you're getting an entire computer, at this point pre-built PCs aren't affected because those manufacturers have to sell their parts at guideline prices. This is the only time I'd recommend a pre-built though.

@translucent17: They're expensive because of the crypto currency mining craze. Because of that, GPU prices have skyrocketed. There is a loophole (and one I normally would recommend against) which is to buy a pre-built PC. PC builders have to sell their components based on guideline pricing so the fully-built PCs cost about the same now as they did before the price spike.

@mpl911: They should have a leg to stand on, because this has obviously never been an issue before, and now every company that ever thinks of doing business in Australia has to think twice.

@mpl911: This is less about the money and more about the legal precedent it sets. It will likely cause a lot of harm to any company that does e-business with Australia and perhaps to the country itself, because it can scare off companies due to the threat of legal action from a foreign entity.

@wanderz: The main reason games are so huge now is the uncompressed audio. It takes less processing power to play it at the tradeoff of requiring more space. PC games tend to have audio decompression factored into their requirements and usually have compressed audio, although a lot of PC games nowadays are ginormous as well.

@Attitude2000: I’ve purchased DLCs that cost less than $5. Are you referring to loading up money on your Steam account? If so, that’s a tactic used by everyone who has the ability to load up currency. It traps it in their network so you’re Assured to be spending it there.

@darkelf83: The decision for cross-play is up to the developers, including the ones that MS owns. Some devs don't care, then there are the guy doing Killer Instinct that has cross-play between X1, Windows Store, and Steam versions.
