No way in hell. Not that I think RB is the most honest of teams, but this would be pretty silly thing to do.

I'm curious, where did you hear this?

Eh. I wanted to see the Mercedes shine sooner, but I assume this is for the best.

Are they going to have two GPs in the US? If so, why?

ED: Given he had a contract until the end of 2014 before, I don't even know why people suggested he would replace Massa next year... Redders1989

Because that's what the media lives of ;)

No surprises there, they are the strongest driver/team combination, why would he leave that to go to a team that works around another driver?

Massa has showed some signs of brilliance this season, he rocked in Canada and Spain. I think there's hope for him if he starts being more consistent, and stops destroying the car every Saturday, tee hee.

I'm very curious why Webber would want to go Ferrari. I mean, if he has trouble fitting in Red Bull, where he has been for so long, what does he expect from Ferrari, a team that's basically build around Fernando (and for good reason) now? Good luck with that.

Bianchi is too young. I could see him being a solid candidate in a couple of years, 2015 the earliest.

Button, hm, I don't see neither Ferrari not Fernando wanting him there, though he surely must want to be anywhere else now :P

With that said, there are rumors that McLaren is preparing a killer car for next season, using this mostly for testing. It will be interesting to see if true.

Has anyone thought the whole thing is slightly backwards? No testing is allowed in season, yet a provision was signed under the regulations that if Pirelli called upon a test then 1000km would be granted? Only crime merc really commited was using a 2013 car. A huge fine is sufficient for that i'd say, say 10mil? I mean Macca were fined 100mil over the spy scandal

kipi19

It will all come down to whether or not Mercedes gained an advantage from those tests, and if they did, how big. I also think this will be solved by a fine.

At worst they will be disqualified from the const. championship, but I don't see that happening tbh. There again, that's possible, and there's plenty of the test we don't know yet.

I hope you are right - but if Mercedes are found guilty they could be excluded from the championship and that would have a profound affect!

SadPSPAddict

With exclusion do you mean, taking both cars out of the championship? That's almost impossible to happen. Championship exclusion is the maximal punishment after permament banning, and if we didn't see it for McLaren's spionage scandal and Renault's fixed accident, we most certainly won't see it here.

If you mean taking Mercedes out of the constructors championship, that's more likely. But even that would be far from a game changer.

I'm dying to see a McLaren Honda again. Wanna see that top of its class engine in action, also want to see the new color combination.

It's true, McLaren aren't prepared to fork out the X of millions a year for the engines, i think it was 20-25million a year for the engines, Honda are doing it for free, Kind of a no brainer if you ask me :Pkipi19

But a useless deal if the engine is not up to par with Renault's, Ferrari's and Mercedes' :!:

As I said, at these leagues (Ferrari, Red-Bull, McLaren) decisions as critical as these aren't made by simply choosing "the one that costs less".

We are talking about the freakin' engine here! Do you really think costs was their main motivation? No way.

Sure, it being free was certainly a plus, but make no mistake, Honda MUST have showed them something VERY interesting to get the deal.
