@ogriff27 backwards compatibility should be done through to digital downloads of owned games... there might be some technical limitations however, because the PS3 uses a Cell chip, while the PS4 will use an x86-64bit chip. hopefully they'll be able to migrate old games to use the new chip
@CincoToes sony probably just wanted to be the first this time around.... MS got a head start in the previous generation because they revealed and released the 360 before the PS4
@sora141guy that's what the piston will be all about... I guess the battle between sony and MS will be fought on the "Exclusive titles" theater this time around with piston picking everything else that's not on either side of that fence
I actually believe that a game won't be on your mind for long if it's not hard and unforgiving (at least the first time).... gamers want games that challenge them and make them think back about how hard the game was but they managed to complete it. games that don't have that ingredient will be forgotten really fast and won't make a big splash in the market (unless they have a great story which compensates the lack of challenge). personally, I will never forget the first time I played BG2 and defeated Firkraag after a great deal of tries. it's also important for developers to find the right balance between challenging and frustrating, because some of them seem to confuse the 2 terms
this is really stupid... if gamers are ready for always-on consoles it doesn't mean they want this imposed on them. everything that is always-on should also have a disconnect button somewhere, otherwise it's more trouble than it's worth. people that think differently shouldn't have to use that disconnect button, but for the rest of us... DISCONNECT is a must-have
