@p1p3dream:I do worry about the immersion, because it will never be like a whole world that way. It's okay to have a world you navigate through using menus, but it just takes so much too.
I would love to see more of Midgar, Gold Saucer, Cosmo Canyon, etc. but at the same time it is the world I want to explore as well. But we will see about that once it is released. Still, there's a bitter taste to the episodic release for me.
@p1p3dream: You do have a point, but you make it sound like there are just episodic games these days., because that's the only way things are working now. And they are NOT!
Besides: We still got the issue of the content of the episodes. I do think it will be a pain if one episode is the whole beginning with the first Mako Reactor and another one will be everything from Gold Saucer. You do get every string of the story this way, but you kinda loose the feeling of a real world. Of course that's my POV, but I highly doubt any RPG as FF would gain something good from this. Than again: Time will tell...
I was positive about the remake, but the episodic release seems a bit weird. And the argument is a weird one as well! Does this mean FF15 (for example) will not be as big as FF7?
@theduckofdeath: Who knows? But employment contracts sure can be a pain in the ***!
Anyways, we just don't know it. There's so much going on, from "konami s layers blocked kojima", over "it was in his contract" up to "kojimas lawyers suggested to not take part".
It is a whole different story if he is not allowed to take part on any awards by contract, because that sure takes some wind out of the "Konami did block Kojima from TGA by lawyers"-sails. And just for the record: He did not take part on this years PlayStation-Awards as well and the head of PR (if I remember that right) of Konami took the awards. Maybe I missed it, but where's the drama about that?
I just don't like that onesided news about this topic, no matter how much I love the MGS-Series (an ZOE).
Maybe KONAMI is ashamed of MGSV being called "best action adventure", because a lot of fans are "meh" about it...?
Anyways, as far as I understand he's not being able to take part on any awards by contract - not because he's having issues with KONAMI right now. Of course it sucks, but if it is in his contract...
