BEST NEWS EVER: Wii version of Zelda Twilight Princess uses Wiimote for sword!!

Thats right, all those fanboys and fangirls of the Zelda series can now control the Master sword in their own hands! This is gonna be the best Legend of Zelda game EVER! Straight from wii.ign.com itself:

August 21, 2006 - Nintendo has made some major changes to the control scheme for the Wii version of Zelda: Twilight Princess. Speaking to Japan's monthly Nintendo Dream publication, producer Shigeru Miyamoto revealed that the game will now allow players to swing the controller for sword slashes.

At E3, players used the B button to swing Link's sword, with Nintendo explaining at the time that players would likely get tired having to actually swing the controller. "Upon actually playing it, it's more interesting this way," said Miyamoto to Nintendo Dream about the new control scheme.

Going along with this change, Nintendo has made modifications to the
game's bow and arrow controls. In the E3 version, players aimed with the Wiimote, then actually shot out arrows using the D-pad. With the B button now free, Nintendo has moved the action to the B button. Miyamoto felt that that shooting the arrow with the D-pad was too difficult, and the B button allows for quicker and easier shooting.

It's unclear if the game will require the new control scheme or if players will be able to chose between different methods of control.

Nintendo Dream closed off by asking Miyamoto to name the version of Zelda he personally prefers. The master game maker said that he'd play the Wii version, but added that both versions will be fun.

"I can't talk about it yet, but this Zelda has a lot to it," said Miyamoto. "What you played at E3 was just the tip of the nail." Regarding Nintendo's statement at E3 that Twilight Princess would be the best Zelda in history, he said, "Yes. It's coming along quite nicely."

With Twilight Princess due out at launch, Gamecube
and Wii owners will get to fully explore the potentially greatest Zelda game ever in just a few months. Stay tuned for more!

So there you have it, this is now going to officially be the best Zelda game ever, and with games like MP3 Corruption, Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles, a Mana series game, and more...the Wii is gonna be amazing.

Final Fantasy III DS normal battle+Boss battle, and FFXII

Props to  -Clarke of the Top 3: The Square Enix, Capcom, and Konami Fan Union for finding this. A video of Final Fantasy III DS in action, normal battle and boss battle.

The rocking grounds (normal battle music) and boss battle music sound great. Sorta redone in the FFIV/FFIX style if you ask me (which is a good thing). The graphics and animation are pretty good too. Also the cover for FFXII collectors edition for the PS2 is out. This is a complete tin metal case (much like Resident Evil 4 collectors editon or Halo 2 collectors edition) and not to mention has a tight design! Got it preordered at EBgames and waitin for me October 31st! Meanwhile, check out the FFXII trailer ( VERY nice music to have an adventure to kicks in around the 2:00 minute mark) http://youtube.com/watch?v=p8KkzAKaMfE

Camcorder...director time!!

Well I finally found my camcorder (was looking for it for awhile...it was in some stupid bag in the closet, overlooked it for months) and now im checking everything out. Hopefully I can get a video capture PCI card this weekend, and hook it up S-video style to my camcorder. Gonna start trying to record gameplay, and maybe even stuff in real life. On a side note, been experimenting with some combos on SDBZ, and how to chain certain things together, plus getting ready to start up college classes again. Starting around... mid/late August.

And also, who says the summer is a game drought? Theres a ton of great games that came out these past two months, and August still counts (Saints Row and Dead Rising baby!).

EDIT: First thing I recorded was a Super DBZ match:

Or you can just watch it here or on youtube.com, but downloading from filefront give you higher quality of course. Oh and you have to turn your player volume and computer volume all the way up at the gameplay parts. The volume came out low for some reason.

Super DBZ really is all that AND a bag of chips (havent heard that in awhile)!

Seriously, this game is strongly geared to those who are DBZ fans and 2d fighting game fans. And it doesnt dissapoint. It goes to the cell saga since it takes after the Manga (which I think is when the manga stopped anyway) but tosses in some extra characters like Demon King Picollo from the Dragon Ball series (when Goku was young) Chi Chi, who uses all the legendary items from Dragon Ball like the nimbus, and bansho fan. Also theres Videl and of course Cyborg Frieza redesign by Akira Toriyama himself. Gonna write a review today, so expect that to be up soon on both gamefaqs and gamespot.

EDIT UPDATE: My review is now up at Gamespot and should be up at gamefaqs soon.

This just in, first official Super Dragon Ball Z review, from Gamepro

Expected no less. Its a great fighting game for both DBZ fans and fighting game fans alike (especially those of the 2d fighting style). Im glad we finally have a game thats comparable to the fighting style of Dragon Ball Z: Hyper Dimension (now that was a tight DBZ fighting game). Not to say I dont like the budokai style of fighting, or the Tenkaichi DBZ sim style of fighting (really looking forward to 2 for the Ninteno Wii) but I always felt the style of games like Hyper Dimension and SDBZ are best if you want to make a straight up DBZ fighting game.

Plus, just found out recently from those videos I uploaded that for people like Trunks, you can change their weapons (he can either use his normal sword, or a beam sword, and they both have different advantages).

Super Dragon Ball Z does have world destroying moves (for those who like it) vid

Wow looks nice, especially that spirit bomb and the super final flash. They've got secret costumes (vegeta in SSJ mode while wearing saiyan armor with the scouter, and Goku with the clothes given to him on that planet...after namek blew up). And that character custom edit mode, design the color of your favorite character's suit AND give em special attacks from other people. Like say, give Goku an all black suit and Picollo's special beam cannon. Or give Android 17 the Kamehameha attack. Gotta say it again, it looks like a damn good  game that both DB and fighting game fans will love.

The english trailer is up at gamespot also...but this jp trailer shows ALOT more action and features.
