Dog Spots!

Just a brief word to say thanks TV.com for putting me on the spotlight! I promise not to spill stuff on the carpet like I usually do ;)

High profile guide, Stimpy, and Stanford Tree

I must say it's really amazing how well this website has done to push our guides to the front of the search lists. Either that or those search engines really pick up on the user's recent website visit activity. When I typed "wiggles" or "wiggles episode" in the Yahoo and Google search engine the top two results were: 1. official website 2. my guide and hmm somewhere down the front page list was my blog entry. OK, that's a bit too public ;). As noted in my previous blog, Kitty wanted the spotlight for a bit, so I've changed icons to Stimpy, who best represents him. He sticks his tongue out a lot, just like Stimpy. :P Still watching the Olympics? Funny coincidence, the Stanford Tree mascot got arrested and subsequently fired for drunk and disorderly conduct recently. Guess the mascot went nuts after seeing her minions dance at the Olympics :D

Wiggles Guide overhauled

Most of this week was spent overhauling The Wiggles guide. The episodes are now renumbered by airdate and the season was split. Hopefully it will be clearer how the episodes were broadcast when they came to the US. Given the luck of Levels this week, I may or may not get a huge boost for that effort. Anyways lemme know how you like that. I'm tired and it's time to celebrate Valentine's!

College Olympics?

I've got a screamer tonight so while I may not be getting any sleep or any subs done, let's hear some thoughts about the Olympics. Why did they open it up with downhill skiing practice? What a waste; it made me think I missed the opening so I stopped tuning in and ended up catching it on the 2am replay. Maybe it's just me, but the Torino opening ceremonies sure reminded me of college football games at Stanford. You got the ski jumper formation, clearly the coolest part of the ceremony. At halftime shows, the "marching" band would run around on the field randomly and create formations. Stanford's mascot is a pointy green tree. There's plenty of folks dressed as trees, which is OK as long as you're not a tree during the Big Game against Cal. Dancing cows spinning around. Maybe that's like a mascot for another college? The playing of American disco songs during the Parade of Nations. Is that what's popular in Italian clubs these days? Who bribed the Olympic committee this time? Feel free to re-blog your olympic thoughts from other blogs too. I don't get a chance to read 'em sometimes :)

Watching TV for once, and a fun question

Yay, I finally watched a show during live broadcast time again; it was Veronica Mars' carnival episode. :) Here's an old question I regularly ask my friends and family: What do you consider yourself most of the time: Lazy or Tired? I used to think of myself as being lazy when I ask other folks to do stuff for me, but nowadays it's probably because I'm tired and burnt out from work and household issues.

Black Lights and Computer Crash!

So we bought that black light Urine Away thingy at Target yesterday, as seen on TV, and tried it out at our place, hoping to see where Angus had left its mark. The ENTIRE carpet was covered with discolored black light spots! To make it worse, even spraying the Urine Away formula on a spot, any spot, doesn't make it go away. Sheesh, that's depressing. Then today I was entering Wiggles episode updates (see my previous blog), and then decided to type in superbowl.com CRASH. Black screen, blinking cursor. You can power down or hit ctrl-alt-del but that's about it. It doesn't take boot disks or the recovery CD. Great. My pooter is dead. Any ideas, please let me know. Could be a hard disk crash, which would be sad because I'd have lost a whole bunch of photos.

Dog's Life

Martina sings She’s a Butterfly There's this console game called Dog's Life that my friend loaned me this week, and it's amusing. It's the first dog game I've seen where you can enter a combo to take a dump. Great. I get virtual poops and real poops now. :) I’m falling way behind on my TV watching. I have the poor man’s TiVo and those things are filling up quick with onesie-twosie unwatched episodes. I heard Smallville’s Episode #100 was packed full of action. I was dumb enough to watch the closing credits on the tape and it spoiled who died. [QUOTE="Two week boxie"]

Dog Food Thanks to jchamberlin for filling in Dirty Jobs episodes. I was thinking of adding recaps, but got too many other ones to fill out, so maybe later. I crown thee doggy I’m slowly getting through finishing the recaps for the rest of Mini-Goddess and then tackle You’re Under Arrest which is done by the same creator, and is a fairly long haul. For some reason, Fruits Basket got another decrease in CP. Did they delete more episodes? I only see one Delete Me left. I did score my first person, and it's some dude with glasses 8) Questions for my fellow editors: 1) Should I split the first season of the Wiggles? They aren’t split in the Disney version although it’s pretty clear that one series precedes the other. And then I’d have to move the upper seasons anyways. Lots of points for that. 2) Should I move Tenchi Muyo OAV3 from season 5 to season 4 (empty)?

Mr. 3000!

My binder's getting filled up again, but I've just reached my 3000th accepted submission!

Doing my own Dirty Job

Martina sings She’s a Butterfly It seems like everyone in the family yesterday decided to make brown messes this weekend from coffee spills to dog stuffs to runny diapers to cat hairballs. The dog poop was the worst, getting over several mats, a chair, and my little one's pants and shoes. Argh! I’m still tired of it, but that's life. [QUOTE="Three week boxie"]

Dog Food It looks like the staff went through a pile of my submits on Friday so my queue dropped significantly. I may tackle Dirty Jobs next as someone has requested some new summaries. If anyone needs anime guide help lemme know. I crown thee doggy Strange two weeks in editing. I find out the numbering on Lights, Camera, Action, Wiggles is totally different for the Australian and video version compared to the US edition. That only affects the titles, so that has to be converted to US numbering at some time. Why we need a people search update: I've been griping out this regularly. This week, one of the Wiggly Dancers, Ryan De Saulnier, gets put on the search map. Why him and not the others? I don’t know. I’d really like to get most of the cast back on the map especially Ben Murray (II), Kristy Talbot, Larissa Wright, and Paul Field, since I can't add any of them manually or by search, and it’s really screwing up my cast lists there. There are also people from various shows that could use an update so I could consolidate entries. I have to keep separate lists in the meantime. I’ll post a question of the week later :) Have fun and keep smiling :)

shopping carts are evil

Hope everyone's having a great January. Mine has been the opposite so far, with a very scary moment in L.A. involving a fall from an evil 99 Ranch shopping cart, but it looks like we'll recover from it. The other media highlights were visiting NBC Studios in Burbank and seeing the set of The Tonight Show, the LA Zoo which has a huge chimpanzee exhibit and up close and personal giraffes, and of course Disneyland. In tv.com world, I've been busy filling in The Adventures of Mini-Goddess guide and have 36/48 of the summaries done and the other notes sitting in a binder. It's getting tough to carve out the time to write recaps so I'm only doing a little bit at a time. Gotta thank Yakira for taking the helm on the Duplicate Persons guide again. :) She does a fabulous job on an important task that doesn't garner much TV points for levels, but is vital to keeping our actors together. :) Question of the week: If you have netflix or a rental place nearby (like the library), do you tend to watch just movies or blast through whole seasons of old TV episodes? Or a little of both?
