@gameroutlawzz: Games as Doom are focused in multiplayer, the campaign is an extra and in this case is incredible to have a campaign that is so good (Overwatch learn something!). You can still playing it, also, with awesome mods, there is a mod that 1 super-player is being hunting for the rest of the team. The problem with cinematic-based games is that they have only 1 use and never again.

Console exclusives are missing the point of what a videogame is, maybe because they can't compite with PC gaming, trying to offer pretentious cinematics (the only thing in which they can be good), but that is far from what a videogame is.

marketing... marketing everywhere...

I used to think that people plays games, that actually are games, but in these portals people seems strongly influenced by marketing, they told you what you must like.

How in this World a game that lasts 2 hours, which is basically an emo-cinematic-trailer with zero replayability, can by GOTY of anything? is hilarious.

Most of them ends that "trailer" and never touch again in their lives, but they can think that they have a "GOTY" in their shelves, while we still playing games of the DECADE like Path of Exile, Baldur's Gate, WoW, Starcraft or Age of Empires...

By the way, I still playing Tyranny for 3st time, how can you call that? no problem, keep your "GOTY" in your shelves if that makes you happy, while we still playing real games, hehe...

@wrednajasobaka: You've said the same as I, Kickstarter means companies are by their own, why are we arguing?

I've been playing since 2000s and I've see all kind of devices born and die without an exception: [PC-N64-PS], [PC-PS2-Xbox], [PC-PS3-X360], [PC-PS4-XOne] and it continues... did you notice something? Yes, PC is always there.

Phones are replacing consoles very fast, but can't replace a PC (especially for gaming, competition, simulation, modding...). And is easy to notice, where did you wrote your post? ah...

@wrednajasobaka: You misunderstood my comment. The elephant in the room is that still enterprises making good games but majority are by their own because distributors aren't interested in focused market while the big casual masses are more profitable.

And today a console is a nerfed PC, in all possible ways, including catalogue. Considering that you actually need a PC for other tasks in your life, consoles are the most expensive way to play a videogame today, and in the worse quality, without mods, totally pointless.

The elephant in the room is how precious are this kind of games, made from gamers to gamers, in a world in which all triple A super-productions are pad-casual-nerfed shames for easy multiplatform to those toy-PCs named consoles, which are casualizing the industry at standards never seen before. Is a world in which triple A games are launched by overwhelming marketing campaigns to don't notice that are full of bugs, incomplete, with 1st day giant patches, online DRM, cut content sold as DLC, few hours duration, totally linear corridors, more movie than gameplay, etc, etc, etc...

In this world, few heroes are resisting the casual wave, very few high budget productions still loyal to themselves (Warhammer, Witcher or Star Citizen are great examples), but majority of devs are by their own, only trough crowdfunding we are having again complete games, made with brain and love to the detail, focused in the player instead the market, with real replayability.

This modest developers are giving a lesson to the giant enterprises, bringing back the times in which if a game is good, it sells itself, we don't need millionaire marketing campaigns to convince us, we just need a good game, and Obsidian gave us a gain a game that we want to play.

It is impossible to, objectively, give a 9 to a game that has turned the franchise from ARPG to Hack'n Slash. To evaluate games as: "yes, is a complete change, but is funny" are we, the users, we can put notes based on our feelings, but journalists must evaluate objectively, a game that changes its genre is not only an attempt to scam, means also that will be "fun" for certain target, but not for the original players, means leaving behind the original players that made it famous.

It is impossible to, objectively, give an 8 to Dragon Age 2, or a 9 to Inquisition, they have turned its franchise from RPG to ARPG, is a complete change of genre, but trying to maintain the RPG mechanics ridiculously... (also Diablo 2 has 8.5 while Diablo 3 has 9? really? a game that turns the franchise from ARPG to Hack'n Slash?).

Since I've modded my first game, I could never play a game that I can't mod. I can't understand people who play in consoles without being able to touch a single pixel... I feel pity for them.

c'mon! Who is playing this game on a console? is that possible? maybe people that don't know that there exists graphic mods that brings real HD, with atmosphere and difficulty improvements? I think they buy the game on their console for fanboyism but after few tries they acquire it for PC, as it was meant to be played, I can't imagine my self playing such games totally ruined, sincerely.

@munnieshot: so, you are celebrating that a game is not for PC and "I" am the idiot bothered by strangers who play in other platforms? interesting the console mentality...

BTW, I don't play RPGs in which I can't design my character, GTA, RDR, The Witcher, I'm here to thank your kind for pay my free copy of Skyrim, you are who brings a game that nobody cares here, haha.
