This kind of excitement in consoles for the new generation SSD makes us think: how did they survived 1 or 2 generations before without it? (While in PC is the norm from more than a decade...).

Now... you will read tons of propaganda about "fast PS5", while in SSD speed is almost unnoticeable, I had an old SSD in my old PC, and (for my human perception), games takes exactly the same time to load. SSD is an improvement from HDD, but between SSDs for humans are almost unnoticeable.

The real thing is that PS5 is the worst console in new gen, more close to old Xbox upgraded, than the new Xbox series X. And the problem, is the "damage control" Sony implemented: OVERCLOCKING from 8tf to 10tf... saying the tale that it will be ...variable... haha. They took all of their fans as fools.

What they have done is a simple overclock, in PC it requires HIGH refrigeration systems, also it is risky, generating lots of errors. Sony should have a better cooling system than Xbox, and I doubt it.

Be prepared to convert yourself in savescummers, saving each 30 seconds, and reloading with ALL the time that consumes due overheat and failures. In that scenario, PS5 will be the slowest console ever made? hehe.

Baldur's Gate, Fallout 2, and Starcraft, damn... still playing them even today! How many games can claim more than 20 years of entertainment?

These retrospectives should serve to think about where resides what makes good a game, beyond the marketing it had, it's pretentious plot, or the lost beauty with the years.

While console exclusives as God of War, today are accumulating dust on shelves, real games like Fallout NV still installed and running, well feed with awesome mods.

Damn... now I really want to replay Witcher 1 with all the new mods I miss all of these years... This will be the first, for sure. Unforgettable.

@analgrin: 1st. No free, it's rent (if you stop paying, you loss all). 2nd. There exist Steam system with fabulous discounts, or if you don't care to not own a game, the Game Pass for $1 you have all.

And I had reinstalled Fallout NV with Tale of Two Wastelands mod including Fallout 3 in the same game. We don't have physical time to play all what we want...

Besides Epic is 40% Tencent (a Chinese's company, and all in China feeds that regime due all exportation tributes directly to the Communist Party)... I don't care who got more money at the end of the circuit, my only problem is related to bring the worst of gaming (from consoles, as always) of exclusivity, which never benefits the user, only the seller.

@ickzuu: Diablo 3 is online already... if you want a better ARPG experience try Torchlight 2, Grim Dawn or Wolcen, all of them offline, 2 of them with even better graphics and environment, and all are inspired on the best ARPG even in these days: Diablo 2.

If you want to play older ARPGs (but which still at the top level today), try Sacred 1 (also the 2 feels good), Dungeon Siege 1 &2 or Titan Quest. They also have tons of mods to make them virtually unlimited.

@Shantmaster_K: no one needs to play Diablo 3, ever.

Try Path of Exile, Wolcen or Grim Dawn instead. ;)

@Pyrosa: That is a rare case (and only if you don't want to go deep in the game, crafting a lot, search each corner, or use the toolset), controller is always clumsy for deep RPG management, for that reason main RPG in consoles are action, linear, emotive and cinematic.

But in addition of the clumsiness of the device, consoles also bear the problem of having a main casual audience. Diablo 3 had a skill tree during its development (there is an official screenshot on google), then was made public a memo in which Blizzard asked for a PS3 engeneer; the next news was that they have removed that skill tree, to the current "all in one" casual thing...
