Former Gamespot editor Jeff Gerstmann appeared on X-Play today on G4. Ever since Jeff left Gamespot has been falling apart. His other Editor friends have also quit working for the bas*ards over at CNET Networks (they truley deserve that name). The show interview however is diffrent and airs on G4 only. So its great to see jeff back he is really doing fine. Hes still as funny as hell. FYI I read his blog dailly to hear his word on the gaming industry and whats been happening lately.

Ok so it truns out my school board is getting weaker and weaker. I mean the weather outside here is bad but 3 years ago this kind of weather would pass and no one would close schools down. So i woke up @ 7am in the morning to find out it was indeed a snow day. Then i went back to sleep @ 8:30am and woke up @ 2pm (yes i was very tried when i first woke up). ANd so then i wake up check the lastest news and this is what i find:

M$ drops 360 HD DVD player (from GS news). Ok so many ppl think M$ is still supporting HD DVD but they r most likely throwing out their supply.

M$ bringing their Surface Computer to consumers (G4TV's the Feed) : This is going to happen for sure sonner or later. Time is the only thing.

There r probably other things but i forget. Anyways i prett sure there will b school 2morrow so the happiness wont last very long. Till next time CYA!

Or I think i already have. During the weekend lots of stuff happened. And I wasn't there for much of it. So on second thought, I think i have cought up on all the crazy news. GS Ryan Davis has left accorinding to every1. He was another GS Editior who was convinced GS was breaking up and followed the steps of the infamous Jeff Gerstmannage (Jeff's firing). Well they also did an interview today w/ Ninty's president. And he didn't once mention any attempt for ninty to attract hardcore gamers in the future. Sad really. You cant depend on a Ninteno console to ofer every kind of genre and for all people. I remeber how ninty said the wii would be for everyone. They were wrong. Hardcore gamers will always stay from ninty consoles now. I just hope M$ and sony dont give up on hardcore gamers aswell. So schools been going odd. Last week all my worries dissapeared but there is still one thing in the back of my head thats bothering me. I'm trying to let go of this odd feeling but something tells me in the coming weeks its gonna be hell. Well anyways im sure i've cought up on everything.

Lately, a lot of MS news has been going around. The Yahoo bid, the 1 year old Vista, and Steve Ballmer (M$ CEO) commenting. So I've decided to kinda of break this up:

First, the Yahoo! bid. While some people see this as what M$ does naturally this acually benefits consumers very much. Infact it benefits M$ and their consumers. M$ gets Yahoo's search market and consumers dont have to decide on what search engine to use. Ok you know what, it doesn't affect consumers at all. Yes Microsoft is killing competion. Oh noes?!?! who really cares that Yahoo is gonna be gone even though they started to die last year due to themselves wasting all of their money on junk. But seriously what about google. What M$ is doing is not wrong. Does anyone care if Yahoo is being bought? Microsoft is making the compeition smaller because really and i seriously mean really, only M$ and google matter in the search market. Even before the anncoument Yahoo was dieing and nobody cared. Yup M$ is being more COMPETITIVE. And to remind everyone, ALL COMPAINES ARE COMPETITIVE. Look at apple and their lieing ads for examples. This is none thing people dont think about when the see M$ do these kind of things. There are so many ways to be competitive and every company does it. If they dont, they or their product die. You cant seriously belive that M$ are the only ones who are competitve and want to put up a challange.

So another thing was Vista's birthday. Its been on the market for one year. That (year) is gone. And so starts something new. With the close release of Vista SP1, Vista's new year starts off great. Vista has improved a lot since its launch and is only going to get better.

Ballmer's commentary on everything that was happening was quite strong. Ballmer makes a great company Rep. and leader. Because of what Ballmer has done so far this year, Microsoft is becoming more stronger and is fighting back. Recently, Ballmer has told the public that Microsoft is not scared of what will happen if they buy Yahoo!. He also anncouced that Microsoft will market Vista much more than last year and push it out. And also Ballmer anouced version 2 of the Windows live apps and what not. So all-in-all its intersting. Microsoft is definitly changing for the better.

And others things like gears 2 is starting to happen in the 360. I have no doubt in my mind that M$ has secret game up their slevees and will use the counter-attack sony. All this tells us that Microsoft will change-for the better- in the upcoming years.

So i didn't get to do a weekly update b/c i was very very busy and things were out of order. I had no time to catch up with news (whice i just recently did).Ok so my cousin came over and he brought gears of war. Yup, its a kick ass game that a must-buy for me. Everything from the graphics, the A.I., the physiscs and the storyline makes video games jump into a whole new world. A better, more realistic world. Anyways that huge Winter storm came on Friday and it was indeed a Snow day. Its gone now and heading east. It left quite a mess. So i feel so lost. My cousin and I did some crazy things like stay up all night playing 360. It was fun but now i have to catch up with crazy-ass news like Microsoft trying to buy yahoo. Its good that M'soft is getting tough again. I'll write more about that later but for now it feels like i have no time to do anything. So until the next time things are right again, CYA!

So i should be studying/learning something in french b/c of a test tommorrow. Well i missed a french leson last week and now am behind and struggling to learn and study about something. So why am i blogging at a time like this? Well theres this huge winter strom coming. I live in Ontario Canada and the Storm came from down under texas and has been attacting U.S. areas going up^. So now it going to come to my area during the night and were expected dont to see about 30cm of snow in the moring (dont kno what 30cm is in whatever americans use but thats a lot of snow :P).

But whats worse is that it'll be even stronger in the morning. It'll be 30cm when i wake up.Wow. So does the mean SNOW DAY!? Probably not :( but theres still a chance that i dont go to school. Besides the fact it will be a Friday I already know from past experiances that on snows days most ppl dont come to school. And so we end up having to wake up eaily in the morning to go to school during a storm and find out that half of our classmates wont be there. And we go on and do nothing for the rest of the day. Nothing. There is a risk in that. The storm could get so bad that by the afternoon we wont be able to walk or use a car. Ok so besides the pointless effort to wake up ect., in some ways it could even be a risk to go to school.

I may just be avoiding that french test but something tells me that tomorrow is going to be a good day. How? As i mentioned b4, my cousin is coming over and bringing his 360 games. I hope it'll be a snow day.

That title is related to school. So i regularly finish things like projects and homework on time. And I decied what my New years reslution should be. Yes its very late. A month late and i realize that it probably wont last very long. I've decided to be ahead of the deadline. To finish work earily and laugh at everyone who hasn't finished. Its not all about laughing. I think its healthy for me to motivate myself into doing work and getting it over with before eveyone eles. Well there is no downside to finishing work earily. Once I do something with my best effort and before the deadline, I can relax and laugh as other people have to do it last minute. Thats reminds me, I have do have a project fue next tuesday. My plan for every project is to act like the dealine is tomorrow. Not to act as if its last min. b/c i know i'll have all the time in the world but to just put pressure on myself. Well better get to that project. CYA!

Well if you followed my horrible XBL weekend set up, it had lots of problems. But anyways, I decided i should connect for a while (b/c i want to go back to my HDTV and not that ugly 7 inch portable dvd player). Yeah so i also mention that my cousin would be visting over the weekend to bring his awesome libary of 360 games. While i was connected to live as a silver member, i downloaded a lot of XBL marketplace demos and xbl arcade trails. I decided i should take the time to give my impressions on these demos. Some are very long, feeling like half of the entire game, and some of them are laughably short, feeling like 5 minutes of gameplay. Here were some of the:

Bioshock Demo: This one was quite the long one, It gave a great into to the game and made me want to buy it. 9.0/10

Half-life 2 ep. 2 demo: Laughable. IF you were to do a speed run the demo would take 1 min. to beat :lol: 4.5/10

Rainbow six vegas: This one made me feel like it was a must have. Its was long. IF i would have to give it a raring by the demo it would be 9.5/10. Looks like an awesoem game.

G.R.A.W.: UBI-SOFT (the game dev of R.S.V. and this game) seem to release excellent demos. GRAW was long and had excellecnt graphics but i got confused between this game and Rainbow Six Vegas demo. 9.5/10

PGR4: Now i own forza 2. I have been a fan of the PGR games. I just love the envirements of these games and the cars and controls. I owned PGR2 for the xbox and loved it and im glad to see they have improved so much. 9.5/10. Forza 2 and PGR4 are both excellent racing games and it seems that the 360 is king of the racing genre.

I downloaded some XBL arcade games too and they were pretty good except the Doom trail. It was like the HL2 EP 2 demo except worse. You could beat the doom trail in less than 30 sec. what a joke.

If you followed on my last blog, I finished creating a XBL account on xbox.com for when i connect to xbl later on. Why dont i connect now? My DSL modem is too far away and i will literally have to drill holes thorough my house, even through the outside. Its really difficult to explain but I'm waiting till winter is over and then i can run wires through my home. So anyways I'll have a free 1 month gold trail so i'm looking forward to that. But i'm not going to go gold after that. I'm staying silver. I'm going to use this account to talk to friends and download demos. Thats all the Silver level is for anyways. And to allow you guys to stalk me (Gamer card). Anyways without xbl, I feel like i'm missing out on something important even if i'd be still be a silver member.

**Edit3** Jan.Mon.28th :P ok so i temporarily connected to XBL. Yes i am a "noob" but i'll get more GS in the future. And bad news, it seems Halo 3 itsn't working. So instead I've been downloading marketplace content. My cousin is coming over and bringing gears and a 48 hour gold trail card on Friday. I wont permantly connect untill Spring comes in. Oh yeah I had to drag my 360 and a portable 7inch dvd player w/ a A/V adpater to my router :P***

I just set up a XBL account on xbox.com for when i do get xbl. So it hasn't been activated yet on a 360. I'll get xbl in a couple of months (in may most likely).
