Socom. Hands down. It's the only reason I own a PS3.BrianB0422I heard it was awful until patched. How does this compare to OP: DR post-patch?

If tactical FPS is what you want, the game has what you're looking for!
So it's still good despite some glitches I've seen mentioned? Update: I haven't made my purchase yet. Right now OP: DR is in the lead with Ghost Recon close behind. I might just get both. I would imagine they are around $20, maybe even less. The cover mode in the RSV games are bs because you could be protected, yet still "see" everything. Kinda takes away from the realism and intensity of it all. Same goes for the Socom games. In 3rd person view you can hide behind a wall and just use the right stick to scan around and see areas your character shouldn't be able to. Yea, those games are slower paced than a cod or bc, say, and they are more tactical, but that aspect kills the realism factor right there. That's why Flashpoint on hc is really the only choice on consoles, if your looking for tactical AND somewhat realistic. bussinroundsGood point. And thanks to everyone else for all the advice. I'm going to make my purchase tomorrow. For now I'll leave it a surprise....
Thank you sir.RB6V2...because of the great weapon and character customization, you can really make the soldier your own. Ghost Recon would be my 2nd choice.:)

Agreed. I've played and appreciated many hours of CoD, but most of the time I can't stand all the madness. Leveling up is quite addicting on mulitplayer but any idiot who has time can climb to the top eventually. Which game should I buy first for those that suggested all of them? Operation Flashpoint, Ghost Recon, SOCOM, or Rainbow Six. I only need to get one (money, time etc.)[QUOTE="Artof_War"][QUOTE="MarcRecon"]
Even though I'm a "BIG" tatical shooter fan, I in no way have hate for games like COD. One of the reason I like games like COD is that it'skinda a pick-up and play type shooter which is great for when I have friends visit who are not gamersand they just want something fun to play. "NOW" that not to say that COD is an easy game to play,it doestakes some tactics to play but we all know thatit's not a real tactical shooter.

Is KZ tactical?
How many are out for PS3? I know of one... I think.
I'm slow, tactical if you will, in shooting games. Maybe that's why I love the MGS series (the goal being stealth, more thought). But I've only played one SOCOMgame on the PS2 and never explored the genre on PS3. What is your favorite? Why?
Most likely minor bug fixes or something. If it were online play, I'm sure gaming sites would have announced that.
there are no bugs in the game At the park on the wood walkway (to the left or right depending on perspective) the bocce ball will hover slightly above the walkway. GREAT game.
