Just beat Halo 3 (impressions, no spoilers)

It really sucked me in... and all I can pretty much say is, this is the game halo 2 should have been. It took everything from the first game, went nuts with new weapons and vehicles, and refined all the gameplay. There were many a epic moment where I just found myself with my mouth wide open going, "Holy crap did I just do that?".

This was a breath of fresh air for the series, and I have a feeling I'll find myself like I did with the first game, playing through the campaign every once in a while, be it on co-op, or just for the sheer enjoyment of it.

Also, it was pretty damn hard :E. I was playing on normal, and was getting my ass kicked in a lot of spots. I can't imagine it by myself, on legendary...

Yay, featured.

And hand picked, too :) Many thanks to everyone who enjoyed it.

This was a video I was really really hoping to get featured, just because of how hard I worked on it. I had never done a video like that before, and I'm glad to see it payed off.

So, Should I go to the midnight launch...

... Of Halo 3? I'm still on the fence about it. I could really care less about waiting till tomorrow morning to pick it up. But on the other hand I already have the game paid off in full, and I've always wanted to experience a midnight release of something. I've never camped out for a console, or a game or anything. I think it would be fun.

But on the other OTHER hand, I will probably get my copy of the game, and be too tired to play it when I get home.

So uh, to all yous peoples who have done these midnight releases of stuff, was the experience of it enjoyable enough on it's own? I mean, I'm not that psyched for Halo 3, but if you guys with midnight launch experience think I'd enjoy myself at this, I'll probably go.

So! I got a PS2... (And interview news)

A friend gave me an old PS2 today, since he got a PS3... But I can't get it to read any discs, pretty much. It's a SCPH-39001 model. I got it to start to play metal gear by having it tipped on it's side... but there was no sound, and after I tried restarting it, it wouldn't read anything again.

Other than that, I just got back from my interview. It was a group interview, and while the group wasn't large, I was the only one there without any experience. But, I was the only one there applying for the position I was applying for... Unfortunately the manager didn't know that I was applying for a computer technician, and not a salesmen. Regardless, I'd say it went pretty alright, I didn't do to good on the "Role Play" part, where I had to try and sell a computer to her, but I kinda made up for it later on.

Job interview :o

I've got a job interview tomorrow for a computer technician position at Circuit City... Thats kinda coo' I guess. Wish me luck!

Oh yeah, camera fixed itself somehow... and that's kinda coo', too.

Swords n' Stuff

Hey everybody, just wanted to tell everyone on here about a cool new website I've discovered called King of Swords. They sell lots of neat things, like swords, stun guns, suits of armor, as well as Harry Potter replicas and other gifts and gadgets. The best part is, every month they have a cool blog contest, where if you advertise for them, they'll send you a free item from the store. Pretty neat, right? So yea, check these guys out, they're awesome.

Broken camera, am cry

My camera broke. It fell off my desk and now the top half of the LCD is really blurry when I turn it on. I tried taking it back to bestbuy (The guy I bought it from had a warranty on it till 2009) and without really thinking I was like, "Yeah, it fell off my desk and now it won't work". The douche said, "Well that would be considered coustomer abuse, and the warranty doesn't cover that". What the hell is the point in buying an extended warranty if you accidentally break the product, and can't get it replaced? Anyway, I'm just going to take it to a different best buy, and lie about it.

In other news, on the way home from worst buy I stopped at gamestop, and picked up Hunter the Reckoning: Redeemer for 5 bucks. I remember playing the first one with my friends, and rather enjoying myself when I did so. Unfortunately my friend borrowed my two xbox controllers, for some apparent "Halo Party" a couple days ago, and has yet to return them. So I haven't been able to play it yet.

Oh yeah, gamefly shipped skate today (first shipment, woo), so I'll be playing that come monday or tuesday, when it arrives in the mail. I like that game a lot. I've played the demo tons, and really can't get enough of it. It's pretty much ruined me on the tony hawk games. They just feel so stiff now. Being someone who is no stranger to the sport of skateboarding (I skated pretty much 3-6 hours daily for 2-3 years), I can really relate to the "realism" the game has to offer, and totally dig it. I love just coming up with new lines, and stuff. I would have totally bought this, if I had the money, but unfortunately I don't.

Another Year, Another Number

The clock struck midnight just now, making me officially legal.

In other news, I preordered Guitar Hero 3 on sunday, with that I decided to try to finish up my 5-stars. I've knocked off 3 in the 2 days since I started trying again, leaving me with Misirlou, Psychobilly Freakout, and Institutionalized as my final 3 songs to "master".

Also, I had to put my car in the shop because of some wacky electrical work, should get it back thursday, friday at the latest. And that's awesome.

That's about it! "The Crew" and I, had a pretty epic round on COD4 today. Seeing as me, talor and mike had just downloaded the beta yesterday, we were a bit lower ranked than everyone else. We get matched up with a group of nothing but level 11's (the highest in the beta) and the first thing they do is yell at us for being, "noobs" and continue this banter until the match starts. And in an act of true epicness, we ran their asses into the ground. Concluding the match, we maturely threw everything they said right back into their faces. It was awesome.

Quick COD4 Beta Impressions

So, I got my hands on the COD4 beta. I just got finished with my first couple of matches, and they were pretty enjoyable.

So I'll just give a quick pro/con list for the beta so far, then go hit the sack

Pros:

- Decent selection of modes for a beta

- 4 (I think) maps, despite being under 1gb of space, is nice. It also helps that they're good maps.

- Graphics are good, but I don't think they're totally "holy **** wow" good like a lot of people say.

- Neat effects like if you get hit by a stun grenade, not only does it temporarily blur your vision and deafen you, but it makes moving (aiming and actual movement) REALLY slow. It enables the stun grenades to be very usefull, which I like. My only problem is when your mobility comes back, its instant, I wish it would fade into recovery.

- Level-up enhancements are nice

- More or less Lag Free

Cons:

- Unlocking classes is stupid. I shouldn't have to rank up just so I can play as a sniper.

- The level-up enhancements, while nice, don't really seem to do that much.

- Kill streaks to call in UAV's, Air Strikes, and Helicopters is functional, but seems like a dumb way to impliment those features.

- I got an Air Strike 3 times, and each time there was no indication as to where any of the enemies were on the radar. This was annoying, but maybe I'm just used to the air strikes in BF2 Modern Combat.

- Auto-Aim is iffy. It's really noticable at times, but other times it's feels non-existant.

- The ranking system doesn't seem to matter right around now

lolz pwnt

I lead my team, with 3+ people at the highest rank you can get, the first round I played. Either ranking up is waaay easy in the beta, or something is wrong. Either way, it was cool to get 22 kills my first time playing the game.
