I'm glad the Wii is doing so well, it keeps the little kids out of the PS3 section while I shop :P.

As far as endurence, hmmm, I don't know. I guess time will tell the Wii tale, fad or not.

GARRYTH

 but everytime I go to the PS3 case to get games... I can't find any that are worth a #@*&.[/QUOTE]

I would come up with a witty comeback, but your right.

then i guess the wii is easier to choose shovel ware after shovel ware. you can't choose from

uncharted, folklore, warhawk, resistance, motorstorm, rachet and clank, i can go on and on with good games.

have fun playing zelda, mario, ssmb, res 4, metriod over and over again because what else do you get to choose from.

While that may be true, the recent Mario, and Metroid game have been completely new for the series, and were EXCELLENT achievements. Brawl, self explanatory. RE4, while being from last gen, was givin a BIG change with the pointing, which made it a whole new (and more fun) experience.

Mario will never grow old for a lot of people, and I could say the same about Halo.

All the 360 adds is stronger hardware. How can it be considered next-gen?

(see what I did thar?)

Of course it's next-gen. It's the next generation of Nintendo's consoles, end of story.

I don't understand this topic. I don't know your definition of a "real" gaming console, but how could a console, that's major feature is playing games, not be considered a gaming console. Of course it is. :|

Mario Galaxy is GotY because it's all based on these people's opinions, you have to remember that. I personally had a hard time deciding between Orange Box and Mario Galaxy for the honor, in the end I gave my own personal GotY award to Galaxy. You can't play the first couple levels and wonder why it's GotY. Sure, it might not give you the best impression (it did me, I replay Honey Hive again and again), but the game AS A WHOLE is what makes it so special.

Play through it some more, I know you'll enjoy it. If not, then it's just not your kind of game, simple as that. It's your opinion, we all are entitled to our own opinions. That is why System Wars exists.

It does absolutely nothing for gaming except give users a different way of input.

I stopped reading there, that is the WHOLE POINT of the Wii-mote. It doesn't prove that it's useless, it's there, it feels intuitive, and it works great, a good chunk of the game (collecting star bits with a flick of the Wii-mote) would be completely left out. I'm glad they didn't try and use it for every little thing like most game companies are trying.

The reason is because:

1. She isn't carrying a traditional gun with a trigger.

2. You would know exactly why if you played the first two Metroid Prime games.

That was my first thought too, as my computer used to do similar things. But the Wii was as cool as can be, plus it's cool out here, we keep it cool in the house too. I know it didn't overheat. Unless it's internal and I just can't feel it. But I fought him again right after it freezing and nothing happened. I will try to see if it ever happens again, and look for interesting leads. ;)

Update, just beat him. I used Tidal Wave 3 times this time, each time it slowed down to a crawl when the water effect was still on screen + the damage indicators, right after they went away my FPS jumped to smooth as butter. Perhaps it was just the right amount of effects that froze it last time. Glad it didn't repeat itself. :)

Have any of you noticed more framerate problems than appeared in the N64 version? That is, with the expansion pack?

I would post this in the Paper Mario forum but it's not very busy, I already posted there before about another issue but never got a reply. Anyway, the VC version of Paper Mario always had framerate problems, way more than my N64 did, but this actually froze my Wii. I was against the Lava Pirahna boss, at LavaLavaIsland Volcano. It was already pretty low in the FPS department, but then I used Tidal Wave with Sushie, and while she was doing the move it moved to almost a slideshow, then it just froze, music still playing, I left it alone for about 2 minutes, tryed to use the home button, tryed shutting the Wii off through the Wii remote, nothing. So I finally held the button on the Wii down and shut it down for good. It still works, my saves are still there, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to complete this mission easily without Tidal Wave, I would rather not have my Wii freeze again... Suggestions? :(
