If U2 was so great, why change it so much? all it needed was a bit of tweaks. As they say dont fix whats not broken

GeoffZak

I see what you're saying, but it's not a very smart mindset when it comes to video games.

Tweaking the game slightly is what they do with every sports game every year, and we all know what that's like. It's the same game every year with updated rosters, so there's no need to buy every edition, it's a huge waste of money to buy the latest version every year. That's what these mainstream titles such as Call of Duty, Uncharted and Halo have become. (Yearly releases with only slight changes.)

You do realise that Uncharted games are released every two years right? Kinda makes your argument against Uncharted completely redundant. Although I do agree that games like COD and Assassin's Creed take the piss, releasing yearly updates which I refuse to buy at full price

The patch is out in the EU, although it isn't expected to fix the lag issue, only perhaps slightly improve performance and 'general stability'.

The patch is expected to fix the 'amazing backward flying dragons' and sort out the issues with magic resistance. All info can be found, believe it or not, on Bethesda's forums.

So far I've enjoyed Oblivion, Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age 2. Mass Effect 2 shades it out of those three, although I'm just starting on Skyrim and I feel that could surpass them all.

I gave Demon's Souls a go but it really wasn't for me, (though I can see why people would love it) so I'll be avoiding Dark Souls too.

UC3>>UC2>>UC for me CTR360

I'd agree with that, I think the Uncharted games are getting better and better as they go along.

All 3 are modern day classics though and form my favourite games series.

Hands down the best looking (and playing) console game, in my opinion.

You don't have to like Batman to appreciate how incredible the Arkham games are. IMO there isn't an action adventure this gen that touches either of them. If that's what you meant.

Pikminmaniac

That's not what I meant, but I see why you may get that impression. It was just the huge amount of praise you threw at the game there, you can really tell you love it. I was a big fan of Arkham Asylum myself and will be picking up City when it comes down in price, due to other gaming commitments. I am struggling to understand quite how you disliked Uncharted 2 (i'm sure you didn't just say that because you see it as competition to Batman for game of gen.).

I've hated on Uncharted 2 way to much on these boards, and feel that I've just come off as annoying at this point, so I'll just summarize by saying that I don't enjoy it's overly linear nature and shallow gameplay that it uses just to serve a cinematic story.I'm a gameplay first and foremost kind of guy and hate when the story interrups or decides your actions for you.

put simply,

I feel Uncharted 2 is a back seat driver experience. It's not all bad though. If I were to put a number to it... 7/10

In Batman Arkham Cty, You'r at the wheel. 10/10 I can't fault it... It deserves this score IMO

Fair enough mate, different strokes for different folks and all that. I can't say I agree with much, or any in fact, of what you say against Uncharted, but at least you're trying to prove your point and not just say it's awful without trying to back your statement up.

Let's see... I dislike Uncharted 2, and Arkham City is the best game released this gen by far. It's a masterpiece in every facet I can think of. Also Arkham City probably has about 80% more content than the Uncharted games on top of everything... It's one heck of a massive and fulfulling experience. I could spend hours upon hours just in the challenge rooms alone not to mention the brilliant riddler puzzles and sidequests. I spent so many joyous hours with Arkham Asylum, but Arkham City is improved in every way with at least twice the content.

So...I'm getting the impression that you quite like Batman then?
