Need a singleplayer game to hold me off til RAGE / Skyrim and between Bad Company 2

Red Dead Redemption or Fallout New Vegas.
I played new vegas for the pc and just got to the strip when my gamesave corrupted. I'm assuming there's no difference between ps3 and pc and I like the game so that's a plus

Never played RDR but I keep hearing mixed reactions. Some say it's a great single player experience and the others say it's boring and not fun.

Trying to find a game I can get used for under 20 so any other suggestions are fine too. Thanks

Red Dead Redemption is a great choice IMO, especially if you're into previous Rockstar/sandbox games.

To simplify, it's GTA set in the Wild West. You get a huge openworld map, a strong storyline with an excellent finish, impressive characters and decent graphics/voice-acting etc. I suppose I could see why endlessly riding around on horseback could get kinda boring, but then you can always set up camp and fast travel so it really isn't an issue. You've also got the Undead Nightmare add-on if you're into all things zombie.

I'd pick it up for sure if I were you pal, a much better game than Fallout New Vegas if you ask me.

Killzone 3 may not have reached the lofty heights of 2 (arguably my favourite FPS of all time) but it's still a fine game, off and online.

I was pleasantly surprised. This was never going to be a day one purchase for me but I reckon I'll be picking it up at some point.

I think it had a real quality about it, from the graphics, to the sound and voice acting, to the controls.

Impressive stuff from Relic.

I've never bought a collectors edition but I am relatively tempted by this, although i'm not even sure ti's available in the UK.

Any PSN ID without random numbers, capital letters, _, - etc. is pretty cool if you ask me. Cheesy ID's trying to be cool are also pretty woeful.

Something like 'Xx_no-1aSSaSS1n_xX' for example, is about as bad as it gets for me (apologies if anyone is stupid enough to use an ID like that here:P)

Not initially for me. I've got a bit of a back log to work through and it's not on the top of my 'most wanted in the next few months' list.

I'm thinking I'll pick it up sometime early next year, hopefully on the cheap.

I dunno much about Yakuza but I can say I wasn't too keen on Resistance 2.

Have you given Killzone 2 or 3 any thought? Miles ahead of Resistance and many other shooters in my book.

I think the earliest games I still sometimes play are Civ Rev and Burnout Paradise (although I only recently got that via Plus).

I was first introduced to Plus as part of the Welcome Back Pack. I've been a member ever since, subscribing for the year (15 months for 12) as soon as the initial 30 days expired.

It seems to be good value to me, I've already taken advantage of various free games and discounts. Also find both cloud storage and automatic download to be very useful.
