Ask EA why there is no demo. My guess is that PC demos are way too big and require too much resources compared to console demos. When you pump in all the assets (compared to the fixed console ones) and when you need to make sure that build runs on all PCs, it's a huge pain in the ass for everyone. I can't remember the last high-profile demo that was less than 1.5 Gb. COD4's demo shipped with I don't think many people jump in on these huge demos. And then we saw a lot of games being cracked day one using the demo files.
As for Epic, their actions tell more than their words and their actions were hugely beneficial for the PC.

Then please explain to me why other games such as Left 4 Dead or even Bad Company 2, which was published by EA had demos. Maybe it was because they actually cared about the PC crowd and are willing to go the extra mile (even if it is a pain in the ass, as you have described) to release a demo. I am not trying to say either game are amazing just because they had demos, but even releasing a crappy, unoptimised demo is better than nothing.
Actually, I think it's much more logical for them to release a demo for the PC so that they can show to the PC crowd that they still care.
