I don't have a clue how to build a PC, and i'd say a good 95% of the population don't either. This is why console gaming is such an advantage - streamlined, easy to use, and, in most cases, just as powerful. How PC gaming get's compared to console gaming in general is beyond me.
Here is what you would need to play BioShock at it's reccommended requirements, and how much it would cost (with exchange rates):
CPU - Intel Core 2 Duo processor - $258.98 AUD = $238.00 USD
2GB System RAM - $260.00 AUD= $233.00 USD
DX10 - NVIDIA GeForce 8600 - $310.00 AUD = $279.00 USD
Sound Card - Sound Blaster X-Fi series - $304.00 AUD = $274.00 USD
= $1132.98 AUD or $1024.00 USD
And that doesnt even factor in other gaming essentials like:
300 GB HD - $199.00 AUD = $178.00 USD
19" WIDESCREEN LCD Monitor - $278.00 AUD = $250.00 USD
5.1 Surround sound speakers - $199.00 = $178.00 USD
