I prefer Uncharted 2 graphics.

And nice try on the '360 cant handle' part. Crysis 2 and Gears 3 already look at least as good.

PAL360

I find it funny when PS3 fanboys act like their console is much more powerful than a 360 when in fact both consoles are pretty much on par.

The 360 has a bit of a more powerful GPU but the PS3's cell can take over some of the tasks of a GPU to even it out.

The art stle of both games are different.

Gears of War 3 has gone with a more colorful cartoon look than 1 and 2.

I would say Gears 3 looks a little better but UC2 had better art design.

Morrowind modded looks fantastic, a lot better than Oblivion vanilla maxed.

But Oblivion modded looks great too.

A video of Morrowind modded.

Just look at Solstheim and Mournhold in this video.

The battery seems pretty bad. Worse than any one problem with the model 1 DS. I expect a revision by late 2012.Cherokee_Jack

The battery is probably one of the only things I can see being changed.

I will get one probably once they make a revision with a better battery.

I still have a lot of DS games to finish.

I beat 999 but I haven't got the true ending yet.....

I'm not too sure but I hope it's powerful enough to wow me like the initial trailers for PS3/360 games did.fabz_95

I wonder what bull trailers they will come up with this time for new consoles.

I remember when people were saying the PS3 was dead on arrival because it had no games and now look at it.

If you want more proof of high end GPUs from 2005 running games today maxed out then here it is;

Mass Effect 2 maxed out on an 8600gt at 1280x720 with a smooth 30+ fps average. A 7800GTX would run it better.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aSS8wl8PHeU

Singularity running maxed on an 8600gt at 1280x720 and it uses higher resolution textures than consoles. A 7800GTX will of course run it better.

Portal 2 maxed out at 1280x720 on an 8600gt but no AA is used (I bet he could get away with a little). The max settings on the PC are higher than consoles and a 7800gtx should be able to run it fine maxed even with some AA.

Here is Crysis 2 on an 8600gt at 1024x768 res at gamer settings. The PS3 version runs at a lower res and the Xbox 360 runs at a slightly higher res but still not 1280x720. The 7800gtx should be able to run it at 360 res just fine and probably 1280x720. I do remember the console version getting some bad frame rate while in certain areas of the game too.

Dead Space 2 ran maxed out on an 8600gt at 1280x720. Dead Space maxed out on PC is at higher settings than consoles with things like better shadows.

So do you get the idea that high end GPUs from 2005 can run games at the same settings as consoles and higher too?

Wow. Perhaps some more research is in order?

In May 2007 the production cost of the Elite was $323 and it retailed for $399. MS has been making profit from hardware for 4yrs. now.

My original post in this thread was that they'll use mid-high range tech from 2013. You seem to agree by saying it will be "newest tech" just "gimped". They did the same thing with the Xbox and the 360. Unified shaders, Xenos daughter-die, and DDR3 was very advanced for 2005.

I simply disagree with people saying it's gonna be something in the range of a 5770. That GPU is in their price range right now, in 2011. You gotta go with what that will get you in 2013, and slap on some advanced features from AMD.

---

On the matter of all this "Mah 7600GT ran games better than Gears or COD4 on 360". That's not how it works. Does your old GPU run games better looking than Gears 3 or Forza 4? Heck no.

BTW. Those Gears 1 shots from PC look like junk compared to UC3 and Gears 3. I swear it looks like Fallout New Vegas level gfx.

gamecubepad

I think they didn't start making profit of consoles until around 3 years after release.

That is almost half a console generation, yes they will continue selling consoles after a next gen console is released but by then there are big price drops.

And they lost a lot of money in failed hardware.

Nintendo on the other hand was swimming in money.

And lol at your opinion on my Gears screenshots.

They look better than any console game ever even Gears 3.

Gears 1-3 on consoles look pretty bad. In comparison Gears 1 was running at medium settings with no AA on console.

And I never said the 7600gt was stronger I used it as an example for comparison since it is hard to find data on games running with a 7800gtx.

Like how I showed an 8600gt running Assassin's Creed 2 maxed out. An 8600gt is essentially a 7600gt with faster shaders so a 7800gtx would show even better performance in that game.

What I argued is that the high end gpus of 2005 could run games just as good if not better than consoles and even games from today.

And yes I do agree with you on that console hardware will probably have some new features but it will be also gimped to consume less power and produce less heat.

It's not going to be comparable to the highest end gpus of it's release.

But even with all this guessing we can't be for sure the route Sony and Microsoft take.

But you can give the other copy to a friend (or sell, which I wouldn't recommend since Valve was so nice to do such a thing) so I hear.

If I remember correctly when purchasing the PS3 version you get the PC version but it is tied to your steam account only.

Support of DX11/12, 6 cores, 8Go, 500 GB HDD and has to be more powerful than GTX 590. Don't think this kind of specs will cost much in 2014.silversix_

I don't know why you think consoles will be released in 2014 most likely it willl be a year after Nintendos new console is released.

Also do you know how much it costs to get a gpu with similar performance to a gtx 295?

Around 350USD for a GTX 570 which is similar in performance.

And the GTX 295 was 500USD at release.

The GTX 590 was 700USD at release.
