No OS though, that would bring it to about $400 after rebate. And haven't seen you around here for a while.ferret-gamer

You can just reuse the OS on the computer you have.

Or you can buy a key really cheap online.

It's not even close to 100USD if you shop right.

The benchmark says 18 fps avg for the card. But that could be at a higher res, it doesn't say the resolution or if it's DX9.DragonfireXZ95

Yah I saw that on notebookcheck.net.

Can't be sure like you said.

for 179$ it's not bad, plus you can mod the case to have even more room lol if u really wanted. you'd end up spending around same trying to build one XBOXRULEZHAHHHH

It's too outdated.

I could build a better computer system for gaming.

Ok, I agree with that... beats consoles for sure. But still, if you want to PC game, the goal should be desktop.

That laptop + a desktop would be cheap as well; so if you need a laptop - bam!

haberman13

Well I am just showing that a laptop can be good but you will need to spend a little more.

I would advise for a gaming desktop but not everyone wants one.

He's right, that laptop should be able to run Crysis on high at 33 fps. Metro 2033 can only achieve medium though.DragonfireXZ95

It might run metro 2033 on high if in directx 9 mode.

I think some people are underestimating what sort of power the next-gen consoles will have if they launch in 2014. The 360 was cutting-edge in 2005, even compared to PCs. Xenos was the first GPU to sport unified shaders.

MS and Sony will probably shoot for a $399 pricepoint and manufacturing costs will be around $500-600.

They will probably not dump that much money into it.

They learned from past mistakes.

And the 360 wasn't that cutting edge.

It did have unified shaders but the clock speed was very low and there were only 48 of them.

Consoles will most likely go for mid end cards with newer features.

Gaming laptops are not fail.

They just cost a bit more than what you can get with a desktop.

But atleast they come with a screen so you don't have to worry about that.

You can get a laptop for around 600USD that teasily beats consoles and can run most games at high settings and most multiplats at max.

I don't think consoles will be using the latest of high end hardware.

They are going to have to keep console prices down to around 300-400 and they want them to be reliable.

Going with higher end hardware consumes more power and generates more heat.

Microsoft is espeically noteworthy of having these problems with its older versions of the 360.

Of course overtime hardware gets cheaper and they could make the changes necessary to lower the failure rate.

But still I don't think they want to take the same chances in a market where people are already suspsicious of their next gen console reliability.

I believe next gen consoles will have a larger hard drive and some built in features for digital downloads of their games.

While using discs is still popular keep in mind that consoles stay around for 6 to 7 years so they have to build it with future preferences in mind.

I believes Sony and Microsoft will release their next gen consoles a year after Nintendo. Making it 2 years in difference to Nintendo would be more of a gamble.

Although I guess it depends on the popularity of Nitnendo's new console and how powerful it is.

Morrowind on my laptop was just an example, dude. My point is that not all PC gamers can actually get superior versions to consoles, they need certain hardware to do so. But you know that.... this shouldn't even be an argument. PC versions have the potential to be better than console ones, as long as you have the necessary hardware to actually make it better. :? How is this arguement awful? Is it even an argument? I'm just stating the facts.

alfredooo

You could build a computer for 300-400 that would be many times more superior in performance than any console.

If you already have a PC then it can be much less with a simple upgrade.

If someone doesn't have a computer as strong as a console then their computer is seriously outdated.

My friend has an old 2004 PC that is stronger than consoles.
