Sorry i know there are PC gamers here, and they are a loyal bunch, but they don't number even 1/4 of the amount of gamers that game on consoles, So whether PC boys like it or not console gaming will always be more popular than PC gaming.Slimmin360

Care to point me to real statistics proving those 2 points?

That computers cpu is slower. A intel core 2 dualcore 2.6 ghz 4 mb cache owns a athlon 3.0 ghz dualcore with 2 mb cache.goodstuffman44

It's still a lot better than consoles.

And could you point me to the (video game) benchmark comparisons of that exact CPU vs the intel core 2 2.6ghz.

Just like the people who say that the i5 and i7 own the phenom II (which they do in certain things) I find that the frame rate in games is not much different.

Most games are not CPU intensive so even old CPUs run them well. The i5 and i7 CPUs will only start showing their true strength in the years to come but not as of now.

I solved the issue with the flickering shadows in Gears of War.

I had to install an older version of drivers.

I picked the 195.62 version but I want to see which is the newest version without the issue.....

There's no problem, it's a common UE 3 glitch, as for other games, they just are that bad.DanielDust

I wish I could fix the shadow flicker glitch.

I don't want to play in directx 9 as there is no AA and forcing it makes the game take 5 minutes to load.

Also it just takes aways the shadows on characters not fixes them.

flickering shadows shouldn't be happening, probably a glitch of some sort. And there shouldn't be a difference in shadows between dx10 and dx9 in Gears of War, as far as i'm aware the main difference is the ability to use AA with the game in dx10.ferret-gamer

I decided to record a video myself to show you the problem.

That sort of shadowing error can happen with unreal, the main flaw is that the developer made poor design choices with the models in the game. They made some amateur mistakes with the character model in the second pic.

What about having issues with flickering shadows on characters in Gears of War directx 10 mode.

I noticed it doesn't happen in Directx 9 mode but thta is because I don't see the dynamic shadows on characters at all when in directx 9 mode.

That is normal, it has nothing to do with your hardware. It is fault on the developers half.

JangoWuzHere

You sure because some people disagree.

I hope what you say it true though.

I also had a problem in Gears of War on PC when in directx 10 mode the shadows on the character's body will look just as bad and they flicker too.

I only see this problem in Unreal Engine games so I thought it was just the ENgine being crappy for dynamic shadows.
