Simple really. The Warhammer 40k universe is far more interesting, has far more lore, and is far deeper than the Gears of War universe. That's how it makes Gears of War look lame.
I already ordered the Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine Collector's Edition (PC version). A 3rd person action game based in the Warhammer universe is just too awesome to pass up! Makes Gears of War look pretty lame in comparison.
I don't care which games are hyped the most. I buy whichever games look the best to me.
Looking at both its going to be close. 2 Different Genres and i think people maybe underestimating Space Marine a bit here.

I agree. WH40k Space Marine is way underrated right now and may end up being an awesome game that doesn't get much attention because of lack of hype. Meanwhile, Rage is part of the usual hype machine but might not end up being as great as everyone is expecting. I guess we all will just have to wait and see.
Even though I'm a pretty big DOW 40k fan, I will easily go with Rage. Space Marine looks like an all-out action game without substance. I hope I'm wrong but everything I've seen so far looks lackluster; slapped into one package for the hack n slash, beat'em up gamers. That isn't necessarily a bad thing though.Elann2008
Substance? LOL!! Name me one game that ID Software has been part of that EVER had any substance? Rage is a shooter, not an RPG. At least WH40k Space Marine has some RPG elements to it.
Don't get me wrong, Rage looks like an awesome shooter with cutting-edge graphics, but not a game with lots of substance. WH40k looks awesome as well so it will be interesting to see which one turns out better. Rage is definitely getting more hype, but that doesn't really mean anything.

I am looking for some survival horror games with action. Also, since I already have RPGs with a solo adventurer, I am looking for some RPGs in which you control a group of people.
Any game recommendations?
BTW, my PC gaming rig has dual GTX 590s in SLI (which is actually QUAD-SLI since they are dual-GPU graphics cards).
why not just buy a blu ray player rathar than buying a ps3 then?...

Because PS3 is great for music as well. I have my PS3 hooked up to my TV and 2.1 stereo system. However, the PS3 is simply a very mediocre gaming machine (as all consoles are).
Console gaming is really nothing compared to PC gaming. All the best RPG titles come out for PC and only some are ported to consoles. A keyboard and mouse are much better for controlling games, especially RPGs and Shooters. PCs annihilate consoles when it comes to graphics. I have a PS3 and I honestly don't even care about gaming on it and use it as a movie and music player instead (it's great for those purposes). I play all my games on PC.
