@mortalsaw That's the same tired argument that has been used for nearly a decade, yet here we are with consoles selling over a quarter billion units...
This is the game that made me realize that I'm just not that into MMO's anymore.
Kind of a tough conclusion to come to after having played them for so long. I really wanted to like another MMO, but the time commitment just doesn't fly anymore. Oh well.
@hadlee73 Ah, ok. Gotcha. For the most part Saints Row has been pretty good about not going nuts with the DLC. They're not pulling a "Ace Combat 6" and shoving out 59 add-ons...
@hadlee73 Huh? Saints Row The Third had some DLC, but most of it was throw away stuff that didn't change the game all that much. What came in the box was plenty great all by itself.
I am actually no so much offended that gaming is being scapegoated again, I'm used to that by now. What I am truly upset about here is that this dude is giving parents a free pass to not do their fucking JOBS at being a parent.
"Kids can get access anytime blah blah"
That's a bunch of BS right there. And if they could, why blame the content and not the means for getting access to it?
Why not ban smart phones for kids under 16?? Because that is stupid. That's why.
"Rockefeller argues that current and emerging characteristics of games have a unique impact on children due to their interactive nature."
There is exactly ZERO proof that this is true. It is entirely an assumption based solely on that fact it is an obvious difference between gaming and watching a movie. The fact the difference exists does NOT magically make it proof of a real impact on people.
