who cares ill be too busy playing Diablo 3. No, actually (while I will likely still be playing Diablo 3), I avoid watching footage on games I am already sold on. After playing Bioshock (rather recently) I was sold on Bioshock Infinite, I ll watch a few trailers, but that's all. I want some of the magic there when I play. Sorry for the attempt to be a fake troller, im now just too lazy to edit it out (yet not explain it....ah the mysteries of the professionally lazy).

wait till RAGE comes out then run the comparison. These things need to be done on games that are pushing boundaries, this is running on source which is a modified form of the quake 2 engine.

@akiwak from what ive been reading devs are pretty much at the limit with the 360 in terms of raw power, from now on it will be finessing it. This could lead to some spectacular looking games. The big problem is going to be storage space. The PS3 has blu rays and thats going to start making a difference, probably more so with content (think dlc for 360 and on the disc for ps3), but it could have an effect. Ive read interviews with id software and they had to restructure rage a bit because they flat out couldnt get it to work on 360 at one point. Also, dragon age had terrible textures on 360 (though it ran smoother) than ps3 and thats a storage issue again. This means games actually wont look as good as they could based on the hardware, because they are limited by the medium. Reminds me of the n64 era all over again, very powerful hardware limited by the cartridges (imagine ff7 or orcarina of time on a n64 if the n64 had a disc drive...much better textures and all the horse power focused on frame rate and polygon counts...i can dream).

this list is stupid, why not just go to metacritic and pull the top rated games this year for each platform. No effort was put into this. besides if dad plays games he can go out and buy them himself. and honestly im a hardcore gamer and if got a game as a present for grad either highschool or college i would have been like wtf? grad presents should be a bit better...car, watch, vacation, expensive pen, maybe a console or something. or the old standby: money.

@Jan_Meja_Heir @IceMidget LBP....seriously? You can create your own tracks on excite bike for the NES (not familiar with ZZT). I started with atari, if you are saying they should be mentioning little big planet in history of video games special, no.

geez takes me back...ive been gaming since the mid 80s, but SF2 was the ish when i was in middle school. I was always more of a SF2 kid then MK, but i played them all. SSF2 and Samurai Showdown 2 were my all time fav fighting games in the arcade. I wish arcades were still big in general, not just for fighting games, but shooters and side scrollers too.

go to technobuffalo.com and their comparison of the hardware explains why games look better on the 360, a lot of it has to do with the lack of anti aliasing on the ps3. Of course the ps3 can run true HD, whereas the 360 can only upscale (to 1080p that is). before the fanboys start screaming, look it up, the 1080p you see on 360 games is upscaled. Few games at all run in true 1080, even on the ps3. if the ps3 was the lead sku, these games would look better on ps3 and not 360, but it is what it is. Oddly, ive played most of these games on 360, except for batman and dragon age. to me id say based on the screen shots, the 360 looks better, but only marginally, the dragon age difference is huge though, it looks a lot better on ps3. ive been playing it the past two days and i havent notice it running anything but smoothly so far.
