@Morgueson O yeah? Where is it so much freer? China? Germany (bans much stricter than ours)? The social contract says that we give up some of our liberty in exchange for relief from anarchy. Before you quote the constitution, our Founders were well schooled in Greek Philosophy, Locke, Rosseu, and other enlightenment thinkers. T

kind of ridiculous. they should do the same for movies. Also, kids can just bye a psn card or xbl points and download the game. Parents should take notice of what their kids are doing..god forbid parents be responsible for supervising their children. Also, this is all in response to the shooting...by a person who was already old enough to buy any game regardless of AO or Mature. Doesnt stop basic cable channels from showing violent shows: Sons of Anarchy, airing of movies (taking out boobs and cursing doesnt make it better for kids). Such bs, i grew up playing MK, Streetfighter, Doom, i saw violent movies at a young age. My parents instilled right and wrong in me and damn sure made me know there would be consequences if i broke rules. I blame parents for the actions of their kids. Once they get in to highschool its not solely the parents fault, but they were raising them so yeah, kind of partially to blame.

....everyone seems to be talking about graphics not making a game fun...but he specifically talked about technical level.

@SingletreeAve @Serpentes420 I ve been reading about it, nothing about it really grabs me. I ll likely hold off for now and burn up my back catalog and see what the review say. Like I said, I didnt play Bioshock till last fall. Im behind on a host of games that id like to get around to, nothing really leaps out to me as must play. Next year I am in day one for South Park and Last of US, everything else can wait. Id be excited for Assassins Creed 3, but I havent gotten to Brotherhood or Revelations yet.

@Serpentes420 @PumpkinBoogie I think Ive read developers say the consoles are supposed to be 4 or 5 times more power, thats a big jump, I think the installed base will dictate them having next gen last gen versions for some titles, but no one wants to do that or else you slow the adoption of the next gen and it takes even longer for economies of scale to come into play. There is some truth to it not being as big a leap as ps2 to ps3, but that i base on the fact that our last generation jump included the transition to HD, so things look much much better. Go play your 360 or ps3 on a tube tv, it doesnt look like quite the massive leap from last gen as it does in HD.

@deadpeasant but that wasnt a new IP. And it came out roughly 3 years into the Gamecube life cycle so thats about midway. A better argument is God of War that was a new IP and that launched in March of 2005, a year and half before ps3 launched.

New IPS are a risk with a new system. A new sequal at launch, then the second year in bring out your new IP. Either way, I think people had so many great games to play over the last few years, that many of us are working through huge backlogs, so we pick up 1 or 2 must have new titles a year, and go back to our back logs, or pick up a new copy of an old game (or used) we never got around to. I never got around to Bioshock till last fall, I just finished Deus Ex, and Im still working on Darksiders 1 and Castlevania...and I have a friend ready to lend me Arkham City, Infamous 2, and Darksiders 2. I think a lot of gamers are in their late 20s and early to mid 30s and have a wife/girlfriend, a full time job, and dont have the time to devote to games like they did 6 years ago. That is my deal, I still game, but sometime i just dont have 4 or 5 hours to sink into a game so it takes me a while to go through a game now.

@MJ12-Conspiracy the majority of anime and manga are terrible, there are a lot of great ones, but also so much garbage.
