@Smokescreened84 @Bigbudd0045 @GhostOfSparta4 Yeah Im with Ghost on this. Ive been gaming since I was 5 (Im 32 now) and no one I know gives a crap about playing a female protagonist or their presence in games. I m sure these people exist and Im aware that there is a lack of female game protagonists, but perhaps there is market data that says the games dont sell as well. Either way this shouldnt be an issue. I dont care what sex, race, gender, or orientation my game protagonists are.
does it really bother people to play as female characters? I really just care about the game play and story. Samus is a woman. Though as I look at my games only a few have female protagonists: Beyond Good & Evil, FFXIII, Metroid Prime....
@firehawk998 except the average game player is 34. Also, this is america you cannot blame parents for not raising their kids. You find a scapegoat rather than force people to admit fault.
all this nonsense because the Gun Lobby doesnt want any type of restriction on gun owners....like mandatory background checks. No one is talking about banning guns, just new sales of automatic weapons....no one is taking anyone's guns. But hey why bother fixing the economy or dealing with long term structural problems....a shame we dont have actual leaders.
......right. Ive been playing violent games since 85.....havent been in a fight since I was 15 (which I didnt start) and Ive never killed or assaulted anyone. Video Game are a scapegoat since the old people who dont understand them think they are awful. Before this it was movies, now its comics.
@jagcivtec 2) doesnt really work. They could revisit london in the 70s, but now in HD, or do other foreign cities...or one other than LA, MIAMI, or NY (Chicago or New Orleans)...plenty of variety in the world...but by the time they get 2 more GTA s out maybe we will get a Sci Fi R* game.
@TC_Squared .....if you ve been to law school sat through Constitutional Law and are still a strict Constitutionalist, you are either an idiot or a prick. If you havent then realize that even reading the constitution literally means their is grounds for interpretation. "A well regulated militia" would imply that if you own a gun and are not in a state sanctioned militia, Congress can restrict your right to bare arms, all it wants. Not to mention we could talk about founders intent, living document doctrine or a host of other issues. The first people to quote the constitution are normally the people who are the least familiar with it. (I am not calling you an idiot, a prick, or implying you are unfamiliar with it, nor any other personal attack).
@Morgueson we tried living without government, in that world if i want your stuff i can just kill you and take it. your only recourse was to try and kill me to get it back. or to form up with your family and then get it back. I would then do the same to make myself stronger. Eventually we would live in large clan structures, eventually they would be large structures of loosely related clans, we would call these tribes.....by forming more ordered societies we became less violent, we sacrificed liberty for order. Did we sacrifice too much? Possibly, but put 320 Million people together and try it without a few restrictions....not going to work out very well.
@Kevlar101 they dont drink, smoke or consume caffeine, id rather they were the arbiters of what we should expose our children to. Though I guess this does leave it to parents to make the choice.....be funny when politicians and the mass media learns the average gamer is 35.
