@Godlikan starter edition for what? Its a RTS. Its also on sale a couple of times a year, i paid 20 bucks for it. Pony up the money you cheapskate. Things cost money, free to play sucks, outside of valve, which i contend is an anomaly, no one has gotten it right. Whole generation of kids grew up thinking they shouldnt have to pay for anything. They made the game to sell it and make money...thats what people do, work for money, to pay for things like homes, food, etc.
I think they are in trouble. They have an outdate console, that is a few months from being outclassed hardware wise by Sony and MS. If they had mario kart, smash bros, and zelda out this fall or just mario kart, with smash and zelda in q1 2014 they would be in better shape. I am looking forward to windwaker hd, but an hd port isnt going to move systems. They had a year to make a compelling case against the hardware boost of sony and ms...they failed. They could have leaned on the VC to some extent, but they didnt. I think they are in the worst position they have been in ever. THe 3ds is selling well, but not they way the ds did due to competition from mobile. Ill never truly count out nintendo but....
@Drkirk08 who exactly is "we." I love nintendo and always will. The original zelda is still my all time favorite game. Ive owned every nintendo home console till the wii u (which im sure ill get eventually for zelda), but nintendo is fn up. Their approach to online is piss poor, their approach to hd gaming came at least 5 years too late. They have a console running on outdated tech. They have announced pikmin 3 as their big title thus far this year....pikmin is a niche title its not going to do gangbusters great game or not. Then whats next? Its not about hoping they fail, i hope they are successful, but on the console front they seem to be seriously dropping the ball.
further signs the wii u is in trouble. Fanboys buying the nintendo first party releases wont be enough to spur sales. Too many are already waiting for a zelda to buy the system. Nintendo has botched the wii u launch and launch window. Did they supplement it with a robust vc release cycle? No. Confirmed releases for this year so far? Pikimin...maybe. They have talked about games coming out, but vaguely. I think they are in trouble.
@Syrlink @Bigbudd0045 i know people are excited for the next gen, but there are so many games from this gen i havent gotten time to play yet (work really eats into my gaming time) and MGR is on that list. Loved MGS (4 was a bit iffy for me) and love Platinum Games (Vanquish was amazing and its like 20 bucks now if you can find it, i recommend it to all). I also loved red dead, i would have bought any single player dlc they put out...even just more hunting packs...
@Syrlink @Bigbudd0045 i dont get too bent out of shape. I generally dont buy multiplayer dlc and im so far behind on my backlog that i end up getting GOTY editions or the dlc has been out long enough for me to be able to find reviews for it. I dislike most dlc becaus e i want to feel like a game is done when i finish it (thought undead nightmare was exceptionally well handled). Map packs make sense, but i dont play most competitive multiplayer anyway.
@Syrlink @Bigbudd0045 everytime dlc is announced from virtually any company people get their panties in a bunch. The only truly heinous thing capcom has done is the on-disk dlc, that is bs i grant you. I guess i could apply my own attitude to game feeds, as in if i dont want to read bitching i shouldnt read comment feeds. Reading feeds leaves me thinking gamers are just whiney little bitches....but i really should know better on the interwebs.
@TheOnlyConan @Bigbudd0045 If you dont like, dont buy, its not like this feature is a hidden secret and you dont know about it. Also, this is additional content, they are porting the game over. Again, no one is forcing you to buy the extra content either. But no go ahead and complain about it and then buy it anyway.
