An 8.0 for Christ's sake.

an 8.2 for christ's sakes
Wouldn't know anything about that, I don't play racers - they're not my thing. I don't even know what Forza got here, didn't really pay attention to it.
FPS's are my thing though (and certain TPS's like RE4 and Gears,) I played Red Steel for several hours. it was horrid, the level design was generic, the control scheme was terrible, the game was so bland it hurt. 8.0? More like a 5.
I also love RE4, probably the best game in the last 5 to 7 years.... I poured over a hundred hours into it. That being said, I can't take a site that gave Red Steel an 8 seriously when it comes to any reviews they put out (especially for shooters of any kind.)
So what not everyone is going to have the same opinion as you or Gamespot. Go to Gamerankings and you will see that a game like Red Steel actually got alot of mixed reviews. Ranging from positive ones higher then the person your whining about, to reviews lower then Gamespots. Meaning, that if you don't like it fine but don't state it as fact that Red Steel should be hated by everybody because it isn't.
Mixed reviews means that, mixed, you can get positive reviews or negative and yet it doesn't mean that both set of reviews can't in the end like a universally praised game. So again welcome to the world called a difference of opinion.
I would hardly call a 64 percent on Gamerankings "mixed reviews." That's pretty definitive. 31 % on GR gave it in the 6's, 28% gave it 5 or below. How many gave it 9 or above? 1 percent.
Mixed reviews, please.
Listen, I'm not saying a person can't like Red Steel, I'm saying if they do they have poor taste in FPS's. Anyone can like any game. That's the funny thing about taste, there's no accounting for it. There are tons and tons of better FPS's to play.
Bad FPS.
Sorry.
