If you don't own an HDTV you really have no idea what the whole huss fuss is about my tiny p is better than your fancy i. But I'll tell you this...after playing on an HDTV seeing games on SDTV made me not even interested in gaming....it's pretty much like there's no point...the picture is so terrible and lame you don't even care about the game..

Word to those thinkin about making the HD plunge...do it...believe me when I say your opinion on a LOT of games will change when you do.

Games you notice the most difference with.

Gears of War

Resistance: Fall of Man

Motorstorm

Oblivion (PS3)

CoD3 (360)

Flow - this one is amazing in 7.1 on an HDTV....weird I know.

NextGenNow

I disagree with the whole "not even interested in games on a standard def TV thing," I was playing and digging TP on a standard def set then going back and playing Gears on my HDTV - didn't have too much of a problem with the transition. That being said, I do agree that it makes a huge difference. There are moments in PS3 and 360 games that are so sharp and visually brilliant looking that you just have to stop and take in the environment for a while because it looks so spectacular, it's like work of art. That doesn't happen with the Wii once become used to the PS3/360 on a large HD display, it can still be very fun to play but the visual pop and visual "Wow" factor disappears... at least in my experience.

Is it necessary? No.

It sure as Hell helps a lot, though.

Who cares about some site that's only known by a few fools on System Wars? Honestly, who cares.

I don't even get caring about sales in general.... but taking it so far that you start caring about a no-name sales estimation site.... that's pretty sad.

i judge games from a techical point, not just by textures.

i think Motorstorm is beyond what Geow is doing in terms of technology.

GermanShepard06

OK, this conversation is over then. I can't argue with a die hard fanboy.

Motorstorm looks excellent, no doubt about it..... but come on...

if i was an x360 fan i would believe that x360 could do alot better than that.

one more question, are GS reviewers lowering the graphics standards for x360?

Bill_McBlumpkin

XBox 360 has THE best looking game out right now (Gears) and it has for a long while. Better than anything on the PC, and certainly better than anything on the PS3.

This should answer your question.

my advice to you is get a new pc or buy a ps3 to see the real truth.

What game out now on either looks better?

like i said, buy a new pc or ps3 to see the truth. I just got back from 21 day suspension for trying to clear some things out on this issuse so im not even going to bother.

Poor excuse.

Name a game on either that looks better than Gears that is out right now.

Naming a game won't get you banned.

And I own a PS3, just bought it recently. I like it.

I like my 360 too.

Like them both, but I'm not an idiot.

EDIT: I can't afford a high-end PC right now for games, I wish I could though, Used to be a PC gamer back in the day, it was a blast.

if you know what all graphics consist of Gears is nothing special except the mega textures.

GermanShepard06

You still can't answer it can you? That's why it's silly being a fanboy... you can never admit when you're wrong for fear of making "your" system look bad.

Fanboys, hahaha.

Might want to grow up some time.

Thanks for those Bioshock vids (surprisingly enough those were actually new to me, and not the "new" HD trailer from a few days ago like I thought it was going to be before clicking the thread,) can't wait for this game. As for Rainbow Six - not my kind of game so I don't really care what platform it's best on.
