What I want to know is why apple hasnt created a controller accessory for the iphone with physical buttons and control pads/sticks. It seems like such an obvious idea to implement. Just think the 3ds second analog attachment, except it doesnt look like it was designed by a monkey in a dark room.

Hopefully this revelation will silence the "Mass Effect is still an RPG!" crowd.

Haiyama

They should have been silenced after ME2.

I enjoyed the improved battle system, but they dumbed the RPG elements too much. It's about as "RPG" as Demon's Souls.

I agree..It felt like a slap to the face, with the amount they dumbed down the RPG elements which were my favorite aspects of the gameplay. They took a game truly unique to this gen and CODfied it to a slight degree. The story and everything else was still top notch however

[QUOTE="dreman999"] If you don't want the mode, don't play it. It not a case that it does not need it, it's just you don't want it.dreman999

Both of the first games in the series were totally fine without MP..and now on the finale of the trilogy why introduce some tacked on MP component that will affect the single player if you do choose to play it? And it is 100% a case of not needing it for the exact reasons I just mentioned.

Ok , and ME1 without the side quest is 10 hours long..... My point it that a game can be still short if they completely focused on the sp....... ME1's side quest was just you going to the same building the entire time. MP adds way for bioware to expand the game. It matters not if the last games did not have mp. Also, the mp in ME3 IS OPTIONAL....

But like another poster on here pointed out, from my understanding of what I read playing the MP missions will make it easier to get the best ending in the SP portion which is utter nonsense. So lets take a game which first 2 iterations are 100% SP, and then for the finale that all the fans are waiting for add a MP component that will assist you in getting that ultimate ending FOR THE LAST GAME IN THE TRILOGY. And obviously you arent included in this, but alot of ME fans would have liked Bioware to have addressed the "expanding the game" with something other than MP which most fans never wanted or asked for

edit: To expand on this idea: Most of ME fans would have much welcomed more side missions, more planets to explore, more items/weapons to collect etc etc over a MP feature. It seems so out of place to just tack on some multiplayer in the finale of a trilogy that has been 100% A SP experience

[QUOTE="dreman999"] BG2 and BG2 has mp....No problem. NWN was complety mp....No problem. Diabilo1 and 2(By Bizarrd) had mp, co-op and vs....No Problem... ME3 get mp co-op that has no effect on sp......A gigantic problem!dreman999

But why does it NEED mp? The answer is it doesnt and imo some games just shouldnt have it.

I understand that this feature is optional, but it is just disheartening to me that every game this gen seemingly HAS to have some kind of multiplyaer component. What ever happened to the days when just the single player portion of the game was enough? And I wouldnt bet against there being less content/side missions in the single player because of this new multiplayer. Mass Effect is one of my favorite gaming series, and the main reason I finally bought a 360 but there were changes that disappointed me in ME2 and I feel like ME3 will disappoint me in some way or another too. I am still 100% getting the game tho and 100% will not play any multiplayer it has to offer

[QUOTE="dreman999"]Because it always was gears of war in space.foxhound_fox
And so begins the craft of the spin-doctor. Gears of War is already in space. :| And Mass Effect started as a KotOR-like role-playing game. I accepted the changes in ME2 because I thought Bioware was still focused on delivering a exploration-focused SP experience, but had a little hiccup and would recover for the final installment. I guess I was wrong.

Agree 100%. I really hoped that they would go back to the more RPG elements that the first one had, and just fine tune and perfect them. And it seems like this one is going further in the direction (bro gamer) that the second one started to. Bring me back my RPG elements!

I have to respectfully disagree with the OP on this one. The initial "wow" factor of GTAIV was definetely worthy of a ten. As a huge fan of the GTA series, GTAIV was one of the only games I went to buy the first day it came out when I woke up (never preorder games). After playing it all day I anointed it as the best game I had ever played. But after the honeymoon period was over (about 3 days) I realized how boring and shallow the game really is.

There just isnt anywhere near the amount of content as San Andreas, or even Vice City. After the main story is done there is literally nothing to do in the game. There are like 5 different outfits you can buy, you cant customize the cars, the left over side missions are lame and the city just seemed so dead and devoid of any real character or vibrance. And unlike any other GTA game I never felt the urge to play it again after the story was over as going on rampages just isnt as fun as it was in previous titles.

So to me GTAIV doesnt deserve the ten, as it isnt even the best GTA game, and in fact I would go so far as to say the IV stands for fourth best in the series imo.

Vice City(Im a sucker for the 80's)>San Andreas>GTA3>GTAIV

The one feature that every next gen controller needs to have imo is adjustable analog stick resistance. Sometimes messing with the in game sensitivity just doesnt cut it, and it would be great to be able to physically change the sensitivity. I have seen a few 3rd party controllers that feature this for the xbox, but MS and SONY should make it a standard feature on their next gen controllers imo
