Well we all know that M$ will give up on the 360 after 2010 and release another console.ninjapirate2000
That's not a bad run.
Starting a new generation earlier than that will alienate a lot of customers.

Most of the friends on my XBL list are real-life friends.
I think it's better for gaming from the perspective that it's easier to organize a game. In terms of real fun, of course, the split screen, everyone hovering around one TV solution is always the best.
Its gonna b a good year for sony.ajames_123
I think that's the best way to put it.
This won't go down well with the Lemmings. Expect the usual "crystal ball!!!!" and "No AAAE!!!!" crap.Floppy_Jim
It might take a while. They're still reeling from the January NPD numbers.
Funny how the lemmings count the sales made by the 360 while the PS3 didn't exist against it and not the PS2 sales since 360 release plus the PS3 sales.Mongo-Boss
Doesn't really matter now that the PS3 has a toehold and is gaining strength.
[QUOTE="BoToXfAcE"][QUOTE="Erkidu"][QUOTE="BoToXfAcE"][QUOTE="Erkidu"]January was the first month since the PS3 was released that it outsold the 360 in NA. Not to mention, the 360 still has a considerable lead on the PS3 in NA. How is the PS3 dominating the 360 in NA? :|stvee101
I believe the excitement is not that the PS3 is "dominating".
It's that the PS3 is seizing the momentum. Weak game library and still able to pull off a worldwide sales win in 2007 over their rival.
And like you've said, they've never beat the 360 in NA before. Sony fans see this as the beginning of the end for MS.
Which, to be fair, is sort of MS's fault for not capitalizing when they could've. Fix the hardware, lower the price, something other than sitting around and waiting for the competition (Sony) to shape up.
Don't you think it might be a bit early to say something like "the PS3 is seizing the momentum"? :| MS was officially supply constrained in January - and we should wait to see if this trend continues. The PSP has beaten the DS in Japan several weeks - but the DS obliterates in that country. Let's just wait and see. It's hard to trust their claim of official supply contraints when it was released just days before the NPD numbers. You'd think a big company like that would actually realize they were supply constrained in January in ... January.
Couple that with the PS3 outselling the 360 in 07 and an exciting game lineup (plus Home) coming out this year, and I'd have to think that yes, the PS3 is seizing the momentum.
Not winning. Not dominating. Not crushing the opposition. But seizing the momentum and starting to make some waves.
Yeah I don't believe this "supply constraints" crap from MS.For the Wii yes,for the 360 BS.I just think its fishy a company like MS couldn't predict and keep up with demand in traditionally the slowest month for hardware sales.
Exactly. Passing this problem off as supply constraints looks a lot better than "Yeah. The competition beat us. Ow."
[QUOTE="BoToXfAcE"]They're not buying those cars based on those recommendations. So why would they care if they're actually reliable or not?
Wouldn't impact magazine sales one bit.
Ninja-Vox
If i bought a videogame magazine, and said magazine had a top 10 list of awful games which it claimed were actually great games, i would cease purchasing said magazine.
Common sense.
And the flip side is, the magazine might not care if the video game companies were slipping them money on the side to hawk their products. Or conversely, if the car manufacturers were slipping them money to in essence, advertise their vehicles.
It's a business whether we're talking about cars, games, or magazines. Hard to say no to money.
