What will you say when MS announces a $179 Blu-Ray add on?
tbolt76
Probably the same thing. If I'm a consumer, I want the all-in-one solution. Not the one where I have to go out and buy ANOTHER add-on accessory.

[QUOTE="BoToXfAcE"]Logic doesn't compute here.
Most readers don't get their car recommendations from a magazine. They read about new cars, they see a couple of reviews, you could sport a Top 10 with bottom line American cars and people would still buy the magazine because they are car enthusiasts.
Ninja-Vox
Right. Car enthusiasts who cant tell that the cars being touted as reliable are actually rubbish? :|
They're not buying those cars based on those recommendations. So why would they care if they're actually reliable or not?
Wouldn't impact magazine sales one bit.
[QUOTE="BoToXfAcE"]This year's model is entirely new. Have you driven it yet, before making your snap judgment?Car&Driver, Motor Trend. Those wouldn't happen to be American publications would they?
Can't trust a word they say.
Especially if they are touting the Malibu as a Top 10 vehicle. I mean, seriously, has anyone ever really driven a Malibu? I'd actually consider biking to work instead.
lowe0
I actually have. It is NOT a top 10 vehicle. Not even in its price range.

Please dont play the "bias" card. It's just illogical. If you recommend to all of your readers that a certain car is super reliable, they then buy it and find that it fails horribly, they stop buying your magazine. Your company fails. Simple.

Because i know if that breaks ill atleast be able to repair it for free.

what a ripp off im not paying $200 extra to play the same, if not worse games on a PS3. Seriously the PS3 has no games i want that arent on my 360 and even if they did MS would steal them away (DMC4)xbox3604lyfThe only question (in my mind) is which hair brained mod approved this as "acceptable".
I'd let him be. He's obviously unhappy with his console choice and feels the need to lash out with all the bad news his console has recently been garnering.
Gotta give people their release valve.
The Ford Mustang GT is on the Car & Driver Top Ten for 2005 and 2006, and the Fusion is on the list for 2006. The Chevrolet Corvette is on the list for 2006, 2007, and 2008, and the Malibu is on the list for 2008. Meanwhile, the Cadillac CTS is Motor Trend's Car of the Year.[QUOTE="cramoisi"]360 is like Ford and GM: cheaper cost, but breaks all the time and none of their products are in the 10 best car of the year anymore.lowe0
Would it have killed you to do some research before posting?

I rly hope that was sarcasm....[QUOTE="-D3MO-"][QUOTE="Ninja-Vox"]Fords are amongst the most reliable cars on earth right now. :|Ninja-Vox
If you're going to tell me Ford's cars are unreliable, i can only assume you know nothing about cars. Unless you're talking about 1980s Ford sedans; but hell, name a reliable car from that decade made by any company.
They recently beat Nissan and are on par with Toyota in reliability. Google it! 41/44 Fords were recommended to the public, and Ford and Honda, as of today, were ranked the safest auto manufacturers in America with the most 5 star crashes in their vehicles. Google that too!
This is one of those things where I (maybe foolishly) rely on anecdotal evidence.
All these magazines and Consumer Report guides are owned by American companies. It wouldn't surprise me in the least if American car manufacturers slip these companies side money to boost their products' ratings.
I've driven American cars at the local Hertz, Avis, etc... I would never say unreliable but they are noisy, feel cheaply made, in essence, they feel like toys more than real vehicles.
I've only purchased Japanese and German cars now for the past two decades. (With a careful eye to ensure that even though they are Japanese/German brands, that the model itself isn't built in an American plant)
[QUOTE="BoToXfAcE"]um.... 33% vs .03%16% >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 3%
Simple math.
-D3MO-
I'm being generous. There was a report last week that indicated a failure rate of 16%. It would not surprise me if 33% were more accurate.
[QUOTE="dru26"]Do you really believe that MS isn't going to release a Blu-Ray add-on?AIH_PSPMaybe after they fix RROD.
Plus, Add-ons are rarely as successful as built-ins.
Clearly the ps3 has the advantage and the momentum. The ps3 continues to win in europe and japan, taking NA just shows you how much momentum the ps3 is gaining. Weve heard all along about how the ps3 is going to take over, and now its actually starting to happen. The ps3 won last year while the 360 had its best exclusive games out. The 360 most likely wont have a better year then last year(gamewise) and it was beat by a console who was struggling gamewise. 2008 belongs to the ps3, im pretty sure anyone with a brain can figure that out. Software sales will rise as time goes on, sony needs to get that first huge exclusive franchise out and it should be smooth sailing from there.
As much as you guys have made fun of ''blu-ray'' , its a huge advanatage and a huge plus for sony. For those of you thinking that the 360 isnt going to be dominated this year, what are your reasons? whats going to save it? GTA WILL be a good success on BOTH consoles, not just the 360. Also losing bio-ware was a huge blow. You can blame EA for that one.
Bren128
Excellent points.
PS3 was able to capture 07 despite a pale game library. They've already started off this year by winning in the one place where they've never one. Once the games come out, it may indeed be game over.
