Well, I think that they are already making profit from the console.
I believe that the console is profitable after you buy one Nintendo game. And most people who own a Wii U buy at least one game. Nintendo only makes consoles that they can easily profit from. That seems to be their business plan since the original Wii.
Also, it's part of a bigger strategy that Microsoft has been pretty vocal about in the past. They like to train consumers to react in ways that favor them.
They want you to have to be glued to the internet at all times in order for their whole business strategy to really work.
I would have agreed with you after the AC 2 first released, but the series is far too formulaic for comfort at this point.
I'm pretty certain that I know how the game will be just by using my imagination. I remember that AC 3 was billed as this crazy departure for the series, and I believed it until I played it.
Black Flag will probably be just like AC3 only with sailing separating the towns. No hate, just not in love with the series anymore.
