You know when a person has to fetch a dictionary, they're desperately trying to manufacture a response. You're an idiot and there is no reason for me to even quantify any of your responses with anything. It would be a waste of breathe to do so. Your brain is so upside down that it is mind boggling.
@anthony That's the term nowadays that reclusive idiots try to use to make other people look like the problem. Part of that throwing whatever on the wall to see what sticks methodology. I think I'll check that out, but from alternate sources. I'm sure there are other articles on it.
@darthlod The only book you mention in your comment. Selective memory or something? You are a moron. So I called you one. Because you merit being called that. And your rhetoric is empty. Please continue because I'd love to completely dice your shallow logic apart
To darthlod, bringing attention to the ostracized means being politically correct and rendering special treatment. In no way is it the opposing force to the special treatment and privilege that one group of people wield over the rest. What an idiot. this guy is either an idiot, or he thinks he's fooling someone. With that bs feigned logic that people like him try to throw around to justify their bs mind state. It's that whole "They're receiving special treatment, because our special favors are taken away" lol like that makes sense.
@darthlod Know what you speak of before you run your mouth. And if you've read that book, I see that you totally don't get any of it and are a moron. It's idiots that think like you that the book was satirizing.
"There's a bit of a double standard," Harli says. "The very existence of female-only tournaments trashes the idea of equality in the pure fact that male players aren't allowed to enter. Female players don't need special treatment: we need to learn the game the same way everybody else does. The scene is encouraging to everybody, whatever their sexuality or gender." I don't get that comment, it comes off as misguided. That has nothing to do with special treatment. Trying to have things both ways, would semm more like special treatment to me (you know: pay my dinner, be my pin-cushion, and cater to me. But oh, see me as your equal as well.). There's no give and take in that kind of scenario, so that's more so like special treatment. Not an all female tournament. Isn't that more like empowerment and awareness? If we were all treated like equals and you still had that going on, then perhaps it would be a problem. It's sad because it seems as if the person they interviewed is pretty much conveying that same kind of male conditioning that she's trying to diagnose.
I like how they throw in a picture of Chun Li, seems kind of condescending. as if they were like "Hey, let's through in the token female character to give this article validity" Chun-Li, the borderline fan-service character that she is. Anyone ever stop to wonder if their are some higher ups who are deciding what content is being talked about on this site as of late? Perhaps as a way to gauge people's reactions about certain issues, to use it for their advantage in other areas? Because some of these articles come off ass a little forced.
Any sexism that rears it's ugly head amidst the fighting game "community" is merely an extension of those individuals feelings when it comes to their overall day to day perspective. I don't believe it has anything to do with the fighting game scene as a whole, but rather just individuals who just happened to be grouped together at a particular moment, feeding off of each others ignorance. To make the leap and say that it's a fighting game thing is ridiculous, and misinformed.
