Basically, when I first got my PS3, I was a stupid idiot and must have turned the PS3 off (seriously) over 100 times by flicking the ON/OFF button. As I am less stupid now, I understand the serious damage this can cause. I don't see any damage atm in terms of how the PS3 runs, but is there any long term damage I could expect? Should the PS3 be fine if I NEVER do this again? (The Ps3 is sort of loud now days, or maybe it's my paranoid mind.)

I was planning on buying a PS3 tommorow, but I want to know whether I should wait for the 160gb.

Thoughts?

Well, the games I really want are The Force Unleashed and MSG4. I heard the release date for the 160gb is October 31st, and I'm going to have trouble waiting that long, lol. My heart tells me to go out and buy a 80 gb tommorow, but I get this bad feeling that the 160gb will have alot more features than the 80gb.

Is the release date for the 160gb October the 31st or have I got wrong information.

The dates I'm also seeing simply say "by November". I think Sony's aim is to get it out by Christmas, so I wouldn't worry about it being too much later than that (i.e., 2009). It could be Hallowe'en, or maybe a bit after.

I don't think the 160 GB will have a lot of *new* features...I read somewhere that the difference was just the HDD size and maybe a Dualshock controller. I'm sure we will get information about the 160 GB long before October 31st (say, in a couple of weeks)...perhaps wait until we get more info?

Not trying to be a fanboy comment...but you might have a harder problem selling the XBox 360 if the money from the sale is used to buy the PS3... :)

If it's that long, I might as well just go ahead and buy the 80gb. My cousins have a 60gb and they have LOADS of music, videos and demos and they are not having any trouble with storage. The only thing that would cause me to wait is if the 160gb has some major feature that the 80gb doesn't have.

Question though, how come some people say they have a 300gb PS3 or something? Can you buy custom Hard Drives?

As for the 360, there are FAULTY 360's going for £50 on eBay. Mine is in perfect condition, and I have a wireless adapter and two controllers to sell with it. Plus, I'll sell all my games (some good exclusives in there, Forza, Mass Effect, Halo 3). I'll never get the same amount of money needed to buy the PS3, but I've got abit of extra money.

[QUOTE="Bucketz23"]I'm thinking of selling my 360 for a PS3 (not sure yet, advice would be helpful), I was just wondering though, is it worth waiting for the 160gb one? How much more expensive will it be than the 80 gb one?

Thanks.

If you aren't in a hurry, then wait. Even if you end up getting the 80 GB, when the 160 GB comes out, they might lower the price of the 80 GB to remove old stock. Even if they didn't, you certainly won't pay more than the current price... So, wait until you "can't wait" anymore...i.e., when that game you're dying to have finally comes out; whatever that game may be... :)

[QUOTE="carljohnson3456"]Owning both is the way to go my friend.thegoldenpoo

Not possible, I don't have the money.

stick ith the 360 then, you will get virtually nothing for it and both systems have pretty much the same library of games and graphical power/ online capablity. tou are better sticking with waht you have.

Faulty Xbox 360's going on Ebay for £50. My perfectly woking one will go for more than that.

Still not sure though.

System wars have been going through my head all week.

I just can't decide one way or the other, leaning towards PS3.

I'm sure you can, but I might as well make sure.

Can I buy PS3 games from the USA and play them on a UK PS3?

Thanks.
