[QUOTE="blackngold29"][QUOTE="Film-Guy"]Read Desperation first, its much better. Regulators isnt bad but it is very odd. Desperation is very gruesome and brutal though. Film-Guy

Grusome and brutal is cool. Have you read any of the other Bachman books? I liked The Long Walk... I was kind of angry that Rage is out of print (purposely of course).

I found a copy of rage mixed in with the other bachman books in a collection, dont know where though. Good story, shame it is so hard to find. The Long Walk is good but I liked The Running Man alot.

I also found this collection of books with Rage included. Amazon.com :) My favorite book of kings is Desperation by far. Great read. The Stand was also amazingly well written.

[QUOTE="Buddha_basic"]But why make the act of using this drug illegal? The laws against assault or driving under the influence or whatever will still be there.bugtrip
Thats exactly like saying Vehicular manslaughter is an OK law, but getting into the car drunk should be perfectly legal. Of course not every intoxicated driver is going to kill somebody, but eventually it happens doesn't it? And it will happen frequently as statistics show. Let's just make automatic assault rifles legal in our schools, after all, Gun Control would only defer from our right to have a good time with assault rifles. I hope you see what I'm get'n at. If we were to legalize drugs, I would motion for the legalization of marijuana, a substance which has been proven a safer alternative to alcohol time and time again for countless reasons. Perhapse we meet half way here.

But thats sort of where im getting at but having a hard time phrasing it. Driving under the influence SHOULD continue to be illegal. But putting a substance in your body (hell when alcohol and cigarettes are legal) should not be illegal.

[QUOTE="Vfanek"]That's democracy for ya.solid_mario

Or propaganda. I dont see many anti heroin commercials. The way i look at it htough...we dont need protection from ourselves. If you want to put something that may or may not be harmful in your own body without negatively effecting anyone around you...who should stop you? Same with seat belt laws unless its kids, because thats the parents job to protect the kid.

I don't think you can say that really. It's the culture that drugs, especially hard drugs, bring with it. People will always effect other people. If someone OD's on heroin, then it becomes someone elses problem. Someone dies because they aren't wearing a seat belt, it becomes someone elses problem.

Youre right. My point is- Getting drunk in public = illegal Driving Drunk = illegal smoking marijuana = illegal smoking meth = illegal Yet we have thousands of people in jail for these activities. Why? Because they do it anyway. IF someone wants to smoke meth, lets be honest, here in america its pretty easy to get it. Same with marijuana. Why send these people to a warm jail where we have to pay for their cable, their food, their church service, hell..their college education.

Edit: Minus the driving drunk because tahts effecting and possibly killing someone else. But for activities like smoking meth, and marijauna. Or dealing. This should not be illegal. Only when you cross the boundary of harmign someone else. Because these things happen regardless.

It's protection from yourselves and the surrounding people that drugs harm in the process. I don't want to live next door to a heroin addict, nor do I want them near my kids, because believe it or not, high speed drugs don't make the average person more content and fluent in their right and wrong decision making.

But why make the act of using this drug illegal? The laws against assault or driving under the influence or whatever will still be there.

After watching Requiem for a Dream and Train Spotting I will never touch Heroin, However with government regulation of the substance there will be much safer ways to consume it rather than shooting it into your arm.battousai188

[QUOTE="GodLovesDead"]Depends on how good you are at guitar - really. What's the toughest song can you play?xaos

I can pick up the chords to any song after about 2 mins, as for my technique in playing support guitar(chords) i think i am ok but could be better, i know all the major and pentatonic scales and can improvise some sort of lead lead if i know the main key its in, i had guitar lessons for 2 years but i have never really jammed with anyone.

Seriously, just tell them that and that you're a little nervous; unless they are total jackasses, they should be supportive. If they are total jackasses, then no big loss for you :)

Exactly. The fact youve never really jammed with anyone is probably why youre so nervous. It seems youve got some technical knowledge you should be fine. If everyone is pretty decent at playing and they dont just sit around looking at eachother passing the joint , (not that this cant be included), you'll learn a lot jamming with people.

Dont be so serious about it. If the people are fun to hang around than playing music will be enjoyable whether youre satrini or not. Playing in a band is great experience though, especially when trying to play in time. (if your drummer is decent).
