It's funny that many are quick to illustrate the USSR's little adventure in Afghanistan as a loss but the United State's in Vietnam as nothing more than a mere political defeat. I'd argue that even if we established a democracy that was 100% viable, puissant, and in sync with American interests, it would have been a net loss. 60,000 American lives, the wounded, billions of dollars, etc.xXBuffJeffXx

We gained a bunch of heroin out of it though....thats a plus right?

Wow! I didnt think i would get a new anal crevice ripped, let alone a thread worth 11 pages. Pretty neat i guess? But yea my "shambles" comment was pretyt baseless and ignorant and im sorry i failed to produce a link. Probably a little late for that but here we are.http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7602530.stmI guess i was just wonderign what people thought this meant politically for America, if anything at all..seeing as we have some real experts here on off topic.

Im def. a little concerned about Russia. Maybe not the fact that they are training with Venezuela, but now theyve got oil...and lots of Oil. Or i should say now they know they have oil and the means to get it. I really dont know how long it takes to modernize a military, but you can bet thats exactly what Russia is going to poor their black gold revenue into doing. Obviously no country really has the means to "invade" america, and thats not what i was saying, but this topic seems to have taken a life of its own...carry on.

Politicians are not our friends end of story. These quotes dont change anything and honestly its obvious most are taken out of context so of course they will sound dumb.

Russia has confirmed they will be sending several warships + 1000 troops in November to Venezuela after Hugo Chavez declared a strategic alliance between the two, to protect Venezuela from America. And yes, Chavez was quoted "Go ahead and squeal, yankees" in reference to US concerns about this. Anyone else a little concerned about this? Russia is just begging for another cold war. Americas military is in absolute shambles adn so is our economy.

I hope they sell the 60gb drive. I need that middle ground between the 20 I have and the 120 which is too expensive.BaconB1ts123

i googled a standalone 60gb drive and a few sites were saying it was confirmed to be released late 08 to stand beside the pro 360 or something...

I'm finishing up Chuck Palahniuk's Choke. It's a really good book. I think I might start Dean Koont's Odd series with Odd Thomas next.

JustPlainLucas

The odd tomas books are pretty darn good.

Currently im reading Donnie Brasco. Never seen the movie so i thought id read the book first :P

This was shown on the BBC and was wondering if anyone watched it? Its very interesting and if you have a lot of time to kill you should watch it.
