I'm sorry, but MMORPG's are just retarded IMO. They are RPG's with no story (isn't that almost the main part of an RPG to most). Maybe if they had a story I could play through with someone else that'd be fun, but I tried WoW, and that grinding stuff is not fo meMikeE21286

A half billion WoW subscribers can't be wrong...

[QUOTE="baddog121390"][QUOTE="Killfox"]Anyone know if COD4 will have DX10 for PC?????Killfox

Yes, read a few posts above.

Yeah. I cant wait. This game is going to look amazing in DX10. All thos added features will really make the game shine.

Sweet we get the better version.

After being snubbed for COD3, I think PC is owed one.

The only PS3 I see in this thread is people saying it collects dust.. Which has nothing to do with the thread.

MTBare

Which implicitly means, "Hey look, an MMO-type game for 360, which PS3 doesn't have." I also mentioned 360's limitations relative to a PC (360 and PS3 aren't the only systems). Which meansat least twocomparisons have been made.

Which means, "Shhh."

It's 50% MMO, 50% RPG. I don't think the 360 has the resources to do a true MMORPG. WoW, for example, is a pretty bad memory hog. Standing around outside Ironforge's bank would bring the 360 to its knees.

Okay. And the reviewers said that Oblivion runs faster on the Playstation 3 due to standard hard drive caching. I've seen Oblivion running on a Core Xbox 360. It was pretty sick.

Redfingers

And by sick, I take it you mean you needed to run to the bathroom, not the good kind of sick. I was talking about this with another poster elsewhere, and he was describing how caching is very necessary for this game.

I think the entire existence of the Core Xbox is an error. There should have been some minimum standard hard drive so developers could lean on it, period. This non-existant HDD standard is penny wise, pound foolish.

Look at the Rainbow Six, Oblivion, Virtua Tennis, and Fight Night photographs included in my Eurogamer comparison.

The Playstation 3 version of each of those games is at least comparable and, in the last three, significantly superior to their XBox 360 counterparts, and each of them were ports.

Redfingers

Thanks Redfingers. Those were some very interesting links. Some of them you can see cleaner textures and better lighting and shading effects on the PS3. Others, not so clear. Some of them even do look better to me in the 360 shots. I'll admit I'm not always the best judge of such things, so you're welcome to disagree with me.

But what I think is hard to deny is that if a game were primarily developed for the PS3, then ported to the Xbox, that is to say that it gave first consideration to the hardware advantages of the PS3, then the comparison would be far more cut and dry. I'll also get crazy speculative here and say, as we reach the last wave/last gen of titles for thenext gen, we're going to be seeing much more impressive graphics for the PS3. I think, in time, more of the cell's potential will be realized, and it'll be less of a punchline to the gaming community.

The PC version is DX10...apparently their is a pretty large difference too.

from PC-Gamer:

"
The Call of Duty series have always had nice graphics and the new CoD4 dosent look like its going to be exception. Tons of speciall effect has been added to the game, one of those are silhouette lightning and now you wonder what that is. Well its how the eye simulate the lightning in dark environments. The game have extra powder that have been added to the game with the new DirectX 10 and before someone get the chance to ask whats the diffrence bettwen DX9/DX10 the developers answer:

"The diffrence is quite big. We have selfshadowing, normal maps, bump maps, specular maps, transparent and halftransparent material. Most of these things wont be as good in DX9 as its going to be in DX10 . Gameplay way you wont notice any diffrence but i do recommend DX10" Grant Collier"

cobrax25

Yeah, that's kind of what I figured. I'm sure the 360 version will look very nice and all, but PCs have moved on in graphics hardware in the last 2 years, you know. ;)

So, are those screens from the PC version? I doubt the 360 is putting out graphics like that, certainly not at 60 fps.
