Uh, well sure all that stuff in Crysis is well done. How is that innovation though? Farcry had great graphics, amazing AI, an open sandbox world, etc. The stuff in Crysis is nothing new other than the few things you can do with the cloaking and maximum strength. And, really, that's all been done before as well just not so much in a FPS. I don't see anything i haven't seen before. Crysis is a great game, don't get me wrong, but it's far from being an innovation in the FPS world. Bioshock innovated, not Crysis.

Nobody said CoD4 was full of innovation either. ;)

htekemerald

Bioshock didnt inovate in the least bit...everything in it was also in System Shock 2...it realy didnt do anything new at all.

I never played System Shock 2 to be honest. Never got around to it. Fair enough though. Crysis was far from innovating as well though. Innovation is something that isn't seen often these days and neither of these games is an exception it appears.

yet how often do you see a a Sandbox FPS?

Innovation means it's something new. Farcry did it before Crysis, hence, it's not an innovation.

Basicaly everthing in crysis is expanded from farcry

Yeah basicly its more of an evolution than a full on inovation in my opinion. But then theres nothing wrong with that its still a great game.

Interesting screens but honestly I'm more intrigued by the game Bump of Chicken listed there on the left... What the heck is that about?!

Yeah, I wish they'd stayed with the 2D art. The way it is now it looks kinda like Power Stone.

I'm not sure why but after watching a handful of LO videos, it kinda reminds me a little of FFX for some reason. Like the gameplay and look. That could be both a good thing or a bad thing. Good because FFX was a great game or bad because FFX is an old game so we can't expect much anything new from LO. Still I doubt it will bother me much if that turns out to be the case. So long as its got a good story and the gameplay is nice I'll enjoy it. Others might be turned off by that though.

Hmm.. You gotta wonder. If LO was a game on the DS or even the PSP or Wii, how much would it have sold on opening day? 100k? 200k? 300K? Maybe more? I guess we will never know.

Yeah I just started my second playthrough. First playthrough clocked in at 61 hours as 100% paragon so this time I'm goin for 100% renegade. Should be fun to see how different things play out as the bad guy.

LOL. I love Top gear so this is awesome news! I wonder what they will do to stop people from taking shortcuts through all the corners though as the real track doesn't really have any guardrails or wall barriers as anyone who has seen the show will tell you. I suppose they could just add in some.

Honestly, even if it were to flop here in System Wars would it really hurt your enjoyment of the game? Just like the R&C:ToD review, I'm gonna enjoy the game no matter what. Really the only way I would not enjoy it was if the game was completely unplayable due to some gamebreaking bug. And we all know the chances of that happening is, well there is no chance of that happening.

[QUOTE="Mass_Effect"]

[QUOTE="Lazy_Boy88"]No every time GS flops a game that does well everywhere else they are bias. Lair was a universal (almost) flop. GS flopped R&C 7.5 with the average elsewhere being over 9. That's plain out bias.
Blinblingthing

How does that make them biased? Not all reviewers share the same opinions: get over it.

PDZ = 8.1 AVe 9.0@ GS
Halo 3 = 9.3 Ave 9.3 @ GS
Forza 2 9.0 Ave 9.2 @ GS
Bioshock 9.5 Ave 9.0 @ Gamespot

RFOM 8.7 Ave 8.6 @ GS
RC TOD 9.0 Ave 7.5 @ GS
HS 8.1 AVe 8 @ GS
VF5 8.7 Ave 8.1 @ GS

Isn't It odd PS3 games score less or close to the average scores of other sites while 360 games score just about or even better than other sites???

Well, given the scores you've shown the only one that looks to be way off is R&C:ToD. Other than that they look pretty spot on. I mean honestly, its not like gamespot is the only reviewer out there who is sometimes above or below the average. If it wasn't so late and I felt like it I'm sure I could find a similar situation from other review sites out there, only PS3 or Wii games being rated higher than the average while the games on 360 rated below average. Its gonna happen sometimes and it doesn't necessarily mean they are biased to one platform over another even though it may appear that way. But anyway sticking with gamespot scores as an example you could look at there Blue Dragon review(6.0), thats a full 17% below the average according to gamerankings. Or you could look up there reviews of Warhawk and Rainbow 6: Vegas on PS3 both of which are rated higher than the average again according to gamerankings. And I'm sure theres other examples that could be used so its not like gamespot is always above average on 360 games and below average on PS3 games. Anyway I hope you understand what I'm saying.

Well, I own a SDTV and on several occasions I have played games on some friends HDTV's and I can say I honestly don't notice much of a difference. At least not big enough to make me go out and buy a HDTV right now.
