At least this time we are not being forced to play a "person" from the ghetto. GTA: San Andreas was terrible! I thought the protagonist was a cheap shot at garnering the american ghetto purchase(read 12 year olds/hip hop culture). When are they going to come out with a version where you make your own protagaonist? At least Vice City had some flavor and reckoned back to something everyone could associate with. I mean Miami Vice come on! I think a lot of people are just growing up and out of this genere. I for one want something more to think about that what was presented in Rockstars last offering.
Not sure where people were getting the info on a new chip, but I have searched and I can't find one shred of emprical evidence supporting that claim. Why would they do such a thing. All they would be doing is alienating their customer base who has already purchased the original. That was never the intention and never will be. That is why they make PC's and Microsoft has been speaking the mantra "The Xbox is not a PC" over and over. The next processor will be the next iteration of the Xbox, whatever that may bring 3-5 years down the road.
How much can you do with the same idea of driving around commiting crimes and such? I just think the concept, whether it's Saints Row or GTA or the Getawway is just tired. Maybe if I was younger I would find something "naughty" about killing cops, fould mouthed cutscenes and the like, but I feel like I have played that to death and I personally am ready for something more. It's like the glut of slasher movies out now. Same thing. They aren't really improving on the genere just repeating the same thing. I will wait to see how they could possibly improve on the genere, but I just feel like it's beating a dead horse. We shall see.
That's great but GTA IV is so last year. The whole concept is worn out, just like Halo is worn out. People are moving on to bigger and better things. You know you concept is old when people start to copy you and GTA has definatley been copied redux!
