Hard = Game longevity. That is more worth my money moreĀ than finishing a game in a day or two.

I agree but I would have liked to see a role playing aspect like Oblivion allowing you to chose your play style. This could have been the next Fallout if they had pushed it a bit. I think the reason you are one man army near the end is due to better weapons. I am not complaining at all. It has a charm all of its own and that is worth its weight in gold.

Good post Baserx! I love the arguement and how it culminated with I am 17 you are 30 putdown. To be honest when I was 17 I didn't care about much and I thought I had all the answeres. Each successive generation will be the same. If anything, this generation is so absorbed by the internet, Ipods, cell phones, PDA's, ect, they are losing touch with reality. I teach 4th grade and am 34 and I see it every day. If you want to educate yourself, read the Pirce of Privlege and you will have an eye opening experience about what is going through the head of the average 17 year old. Hopefully one day they will grow up, get families and be able to speak intelligently on a subject and inform and educate the next generation. Perhaps game forums are a tough place to sell intelligent conversations.Cabal23

Comparing these two games is stupid. Far Cry is bright and beautiful and STALKER is drab and cold feeling. The AI in FC is not on par with STALKER, but STALKER is a huge world that you can explore and get missions in. Can't do that in FC. I would compare STALKER to Oblivion minus the roleplaying aspect. You either love STALKER or hate it. I think it has a hell of a lot of charm. I beat Far cry in a few days. That is not going to happen with STLAKER.

If $20 isn't much then yes, buy it. I thought it had some monents that were great, but mostly frustrating. Some of the mechanics are stupid and at some points if you don't do X, you will lose the scenerio.

Why on gods green earth are you running Vista anyways???? Did it say anything on the label about running your games better? It will at least be a year or two until they get the bugs worked out. I can only feel pity for those that ran out and bought that OS right after it came out. It took XP a few years until game designers had everything coded correctly. If I were you i would go back to XP.

After seeing so many beautiful new games STALKER looks completely washed out and bland. The gameplay is not fun and feels more like work than anything I have ever played. MadExponent

I think you are too stuck on your "Mad" rig to get this game. I guess it doesn't use your system to it's fullest. I am sure there is something flashier out there for you. By the way it take place in Russia after a nuclear disaster, it's not supposed to look like FarCry. The gameplay is realistic, not run and gun, and yes it is work, but that's why people are enjoying it. Sorry they didn't include a way for you to instantly transport yourself around. That is why it is brilliant. I have died countless time by being suprised by something roaming the wastelands. It feels like a true survival/horror game. One mansĀ garbage is another mans treasure.

It is totally on par with Oblivion. You either love it or hate it. I go back and forth, but then I did on Oblivion as well. I keep going back to it though because it has some seriously difficult battles. My only gripe is (mind you I have not patched yet) is that some missions don't seem to be able to be completed and some after you beat them pop back up again if you go near that area. Unusual. I also don't like how some checkpoints you spent a ton of ammo clearing out respawns after you leave the board and come back. Other than it rocks.
