I was complaining against it, but then picked up a copy at Comp USA as they were closing down for $75 and gave it a whirl. No problems as of yet. I do get occassional crashes in a particular older game. I think it is beautifully smooth. Definatley will require a patch here or there but you can't stop progress.

My sincerest apologies for thinking you were the one who said MS was going down, you were just the person who said my original post was wrong on "so many levels", which you still have yet to defend worth a crap. You will never back down matter what people say to you. That's fine. Any intelligent person can deciper those stocks. The original poster said MS was going down. I simply proved that statistically speaking he is wrong. Microsoft makes a generally stable product that it's obvious people are letting go of. As for why Sony came into this, he brought up blu-ray, which sales are sluggish at best in a market where DVD is the dominate choice of media. And I further noted that statistically speaking Sony isn't doing that hot. That's why they keep changing hands in the upper echelon like most peope change their clothes. Something must stink. So the idea that people are switching to Linux and Blu-ray is absurd. Blu-Ray and HDTV have a 3 to 4 years until they fully saturate the market. .

Sorry maybe I don't see the same thing you do, but they do not have an equal number of ups and downs and that isn't the freakin point. You said MS was going down the crapper, I said Sony's sales are down. How do you refute that based on those charts??? Here is a a one year profile.. tell me they had an equal number of ups and downs. Sony has been pulling itself out of a ditch all year.

SNE spiked in Dec, duh (holiday) and look at May for both companies....

We could go back and forth since neither of work on Wall Street...I just don't think Sony will make a big splash period for next year or so and MS will continue trucking along, just like it has since it's inception. So my theory about MS not going anywhere, I feel still hold true. Sony isn't going anywhere either, they are one of the largest tv manufacturers in the world, but to say the number one OS in the world is going anyhwere is silly. Not to mention almost every business in the world uses some sort of Windows componet. How do you think the they will reverse all that architecture? They won't and they never will. So your arguement once again is moot. Maybe the world we will be driving electric cars next year too, right after everyone downloads Linux for free and switches over, throwing their $250 copy of Windows in the garbage. Somehow I don't see it.

It is pointless arguing with a know it all. I am not a fanboy, I am just making an obvious point. Observe the charts of both companies and their volume. Forget your weak 50 year theory and observe the patterns for the past 10 . MS is way more stable and has been consistently for the past 10 years, not to mention their volume eclipses SNE. Now try and argue they are going down in any sort of way.

MS

[QUOTE="Deihmos"]I find it Ironic that everyone is complaing about Microsoft when they are the ones that got PC gaming where is it now. Like I said before people need to try it before they begin to complain. I was in the beta and I can safely say many people will be impressed.onemic

umm it was actually apple. They made the first OS and MS copied it. The first games came out on that OS and once MS came in they all migrated there.

Ms has done nothing to promote games on windows until recently with their new games for windows marketing.

Would you just stop talking garbage. Apple was first (Apple II series 1977-88), yes, but I wouldn't say just because they were first they did anything for gaming. Yes there were many games, but gaming didn't evolve until a little thing called MS-DOS. MicroSoft Disk Operating System. So go get you copy of Lode Runner and zip it. And the reason all the games migrated to MS was simple. It was a better operating system and Apple failed to create an open artitecture for their systems. Even today Apple is not know for being a gaming machine. So your point is moot.

[QUOTE="Cabal23"][QUOTE="Mummelmann"]

This is typical MS tactics for you, and the prime reason I wish them to get fried in the console wars! It's not healthy for one company to take over markets like they do, and proceed to govern them by spanking consumers with the dollar-bat. So what should we do? Buy Blu-Ray for our living room and PC needs, get Linux and refuse to purchase MS products and rather rip them and share them online in a an epic scale...

Oh wait, this is already happening. It really sucks that a company that's really brought PC's to todays level is the same company that could be their demise as a gaming platform! They owe us PC gamers some more loyalty.

onemic

First off the masses aren't moving to Linux. Just isn't happening. The average person doesn't have the capacity, nor time to learn to use a new OS. And lastly good luck getting support for games. And Blu-ray???, the saturation of Blu-ray is minimal at best. People aren't trading in their cheap DVD players to use Blu-ray. Blu-ray has another five years before it goes anywhere(if it isn't eclipsed by something better).

Secondly the console wars are over. I could post countless articles stating that Sony blew the whole PS3 thing. Wii is the number one unit for sales and Microsoft trumps Sony due to it's lower price and Xbox Live. This isn't my opinion, just look at Sony's end of quarter profits. Down down down. Microsoft is up. Do some research before you post dribble.

The majority will never refuse to buy MS products, that's like saying let boycott gas because of high prices. They have made thier place in the market and have a foothold as the number one OS on earth. I am not saying it's fair, but it is a fact. What ever the future holds, MS will be there, with or without the whiners. That is why Bill is so rich and your not.

This post is wrong on so many levels it's not even funny.

Oh and BTW sony is still making a profit and MS is losing money ATM. You got it mixed up.

Ok if I am wrong "on so many levels" Then explain this you arseclown...

http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2007/04/23/sony-ps3-gets-played.aspx

mouse over the sony stock (SNE) and the Microsoft stock (MSFT). That was April of this year...

Do your research before you start flapping yer gums.....dolt!
