Running around

God of War is nearly complete, as I think I am almost done with Poseidon's challenge.  I have been through several areas and can now swim underwater without breathing.  That's pretty useful.   I enjoyed "zipping" through the underwater deathtrap.

Ran Monday and yesterday (less than ten miles total, but not too bad) with an off day today due to meetings.

Pandora's Temple

I've made my way to the back of the Titan, and gotten my hands on Artemis' Blade.

I wonder how much more of the game there is?

Athens Night-Life

Enjoying God of War a bit, though I will get stuck, put it down for a while, then come back.

I'm not ready to give it a score yet, but I am enjoying it.  Now Ares is stomping all over the city and I have fought through the first wave of the "under the concrete" demon folk.  Now I can't get past those guys AND the chain-ball fellow at the same time...

Maybe tomorrow.

God of War

Well, I bought the first episode of God of War last night and played with a buddy (swapping the controller back and forth).  We apparently sucked as it asked if it wanted us to switch to "easy" after falling to our deaths a few times, though the beer probably had something to do with that.

It seems to be pretty fun so far, and I made it to Athens before calling it a night.

Henne Mines

We descended into the mines.  Beat Tiamat to struggle back out and again and rescued Fran's sister from herself.  I guess I need to go back through and kill all the gels.  I beat the first round in the "switch room", but the second round with about 8-10 synchronous opponents almost finished me.

Mod Nation

Loaded up the new Fyron's Quadrant Mod for Space Empires V last night and enjoyed some of the new features - the "glow" around planets lets you see what their native atmospheres are without too much difficulty, so for that alone, it is worth looking at.  Additionally it incorporates the "swirly warp points" which has been floating around the board.

Churning ground

The FF XII onslaught continues.

I went into the jungle last night, triggering a cut scene, then into the jungle and triggered the cut scene with Fran, met the other members of her race, triggered a cut scene, found two Imperials left for dead, triggering a cut scene.

Now, I am headed to Henne (sp?) mines. Over the weekend, I did go back and tried to get a couple more marks, but couldn't find them easily, so I have dropped them for now and am continuing on the main story path.

All of my characters are now level 26.    I did go into the Westersand dungeon/tunnels and ran into an Esper, or perhaps a mark that was a goat-like headed creature that proceeded to stomp us into the ground.

Lord of the Rings: Shadows of Angmar

LOTR:SOA was in open beta over the weekend. They were trying to see if folks would come and crash their servers under heavy load. It seemed to be okay, one server was taken off while I was playing Saturday night. The introduction areas were pretty full, but once I got out of that, there was a lot more space.

With multiple avatars on-screen, there was a palpable slow-down and the Brandywine server was taken off after my character froze for the second time.

Overall, the game plays like Everquest 2 (and WoW, from what I hear, because I haven't played it). You level your character, finish multiple quests, and join parties.

It is fine. I guess I am not ready to dedicate 2-3 hours+ a night to the game. Visuals were fine, no major issues, aside from Elrond "scooting" across the ground when I was in the Elf pre-introduction.

I leveled a minstrel and warrior to level five without difficulty or death.

It seems ready for prime time.  7/10
