Wow, a bit uber defensive, don't you think? He wasn't attacking pokemon fans the world over, he was just saying that DQMJ had more of the "spark" he was looking for in the game. And I feel the same. I grew up on Pokemon Red and Silver mostly, and I was about 9 years old at the time. After a decade that Pokemon's been around, we're in the fourth generation, and yet it still feels... I dunno... a little retro gameboy. Don't get me wrong, I loved Diamond. I've had it since it came out. I haven't beaten it yet. I've had DQMJ since it came out too. I've beaten it, and now I'm working on... the postgame content. Sure there's a good deal of level grinding, metal killing, monster synthesizing and scouting, but that's a lot of what I liked about it too. Pokemon's still largely limited to one-on-one battles and it had a much more medieval skill system. These are both the fourth generation games in their respective series, and even though Pokemon's been around for a lot longer, I feel DQMJ has come the longer way. Hopefully in the future they'll flesh out more of everything else in that series. But overall, these are all OPINIONS and they should be taken as such. Oh, and to the fire link guy who said Grimer and Muk are slimes... Slimes are DW/DQ monsters, and they're one of the most recognizable monsters in console RPG history. Grimer ain't got nothing on Rocket! ;)

Ahh, well, one day, I had a good game of bowling... I got a strike, another, another, and another. They gave a different word to the fourth or fifth ones, and more and more strikes! Wow! I just got 11 strikes in a row! Perfect game! ...err... Wait... I messed up my LAST throw... I ended up with my best score of 297, I believe. I was devestated.

I swear on my N64's grave i saw one at best buy one time...

Wait a minute my N64 works!

Red_Trigger

Yes, there is something like that for sale at Best Buy, but it's not licensed, endorsed, or sponsored by Nintendo, making it fall into the same category that we're talking about, I believe. Unless Nintendo's put out one themselves (which I haven't heard of) or they've "licensed, sponsored, or endorsed" one.

Does this fall under the clause on the top of the forum part of the page? I mean, technically, I have an MP3 player on my DS, and it works wonderfully, but technically, I'm not allowed to talk about it on this page. Look elsewhere for unbiased opinions.

Anyways, assuming what you're talking about is legal and endorsed by Nintendo and this site actually lets you talk about it, the DS works PERFECTLY as an MP3 player. There are plenty of excellent 1 or 2 gig SD cards which put to shame an ipod (and it's price tag). The battery life is more than sufficient (headphones & closed ds = no backlight), and done smart, you can have a ds running MP3s at max volume for as long as you might need to. I estimate somewhere around 8-12 hours with 100% volume, about 5-8 hours with volume cranked up to 300-400%. Ipods were never really famous for being battery savers, or anything, really. They're just horrifically overpriced MP3 players with the "touch wheel", most (if not all) lack an SD slot, the failure rate of ipods dying is grotesque (even when well taken care of), and there are just much, MUCH better, cheaper, and smarter alternatives for portable music. Ipods sell because of the name, ads, and already established popularity with stupid people who think they're a good investment. Just my $0.02.

And for laughs, I wonder how gamespot would react to my post, or this whole topic. Again, is it allowed here, or not?:?

And with FE9 on the cube, you can click on an enemy, and it'll shopw a red outline (which you can turn on for all relevant enemies) that'll outline where the enemy can possibly attack. This is important, because it helps you keep track of how to keep Soren (black mage) and your white mage dude out of harm's way. FE9's a better introduction to the Fire Emblem series and tactical RPGs in general thanks to that. I'm playing through it again for the third or forth time now myself. Good game.

A suprise that you didn't notice you could just hit A or B to skip passed the taking off/landing sequences, shortening those times by about half...

Wow, and you people call yourselves Metroid fans! You should be ashamed! I can't believe nobody's made mention of this!

In Metroid Prime 3, there's a room with a buncha holographic planets that you can scan, and each talks about the various planets Samus has been to. There's Zebes, SR-388 (or something like that), Tallon IV, Aether, etc... and one scan says something to the effect of "Project Metroid Dread is nearing completion."

C'mon, if that isn't some kind of proof of it's existance, then...? Oh, and by the way, you know I love all of you! Metroid fans kick ass!

And I know otherwise. The volume level affects the battery life sharply. Turning volume up to max on a standard DS game seems to shorten the life down to ~7 hours, versus ~9 or so with the volume all of the way down. It becomes even more noticable whenplaying, say, MP3s with a Max Media Player or an M3 card. With an M3 card (SD version), Moonshell can go anywhere from 0% to 400% volume level, and when your DS gets low on batteries, the light flickers from green to red depending on how loud the song is (red during louder moments, such as sung lyrics or heavy drums/guitars, green during the tenth of a second between drum beats). Cranking up the volume all the way to 400% also seems to kill the battery within just a few hours, not that anything could ever sound good coming out of DS speakers/headphones when the volume is THAT high... I try to aim for 125-200% personally, depening on the band, but... as far as games go, if you want to conserve batteries, keep the volume lower.;)

You can pla music off of an SD card in Excite Truck by having the proper SD card in and picking "SD Card" or something similar out of the options menu, I believe...
