1) Have you ever had the YLOD? YES
2) How often do you play your PS3 on an average day? (let the day be Saturday) Saturday happens once a week so it isn't the average day but about 2-4 hrs
3) Are you meticulous about how you handle discs? (fingerprints, scratches, lying them upside down on surfaces, etc.) I handle them well
4) Do you leave discs in the tray when the console is off or not in use? yes
5) What's your current firmware? the newest version
6) Which PS3 model do you have and for how long have you had it? 80 GB MGS4 pack. Since July
7) Does your PS3 have breathing room? Yes
8 ) In your living room/bedroom set up, where is the PS3 located? On the tiled floor
9) Do you clean the surface often? meh
10) How many hours in a week do you play online, if at all? +10
11) Do you download full games from the store? No
12) Was your PS3 bricked by the 2.4 update? No
13) Has your console ever been on for longer than 12 hours? Yes
14) Have you ever gotten the "3 beeps"? No
15) Have any of your games crashed on the PS3 at all, requiring you to reset the console? Who hasn't

Bonus: I have MGS4 but haven't played it

As for my YLOD I know what caused it. After putting the PS3 in standby mode and dusting it off, I rested the dust absorbing cloth over the PS3. Even though it was not being used, I woke to the YLOD. I removed the cloth, went to work and haven't had a problem with the PS3 since

visually it is the best PS3 game I have played (I have MGS4 but I refuse to play it until I beat MGS3). Like others my main problem is the storytelling. It is set up right but told alllll wrong. The idea of an alternate path taken in the 50's is really promising but is told poorly. I am about 8 missions in and I am already thinking it is all the same. Also there seems to be little pacing, what FPS gives you a tank like 3 missions into the game? It was just something you drive for like literally 3 minutes and then you are done with it. It would be better if there was a build up to the tank, some foreshadowing or some feeling of achievement for finally being able to drive a tank.

If you want a good story, try Half-Life. I really appreciate it now that I've played RFoM. I cared about the characters and enjoyed facing the enemies even though they aren't as smart as RFoM. RFoM just seems like shoot shoot shoot... follow some soldiers... shoot shoot shoot... cutscene... rinse and repeat

same thing happens with my 80 GB. It is how hard drives work. Sony is not pulling a fast one on you

congrats. If you like sports, Madden seems like the way to go. This is shaping up to be yet another great football season and there is another patch coming out for some of the glitches and such as well.

i got it once, like 2 months ago. I had a cloth used to wipe the dust off resting on top of the system when it was on standby and when i woke up the next morning the light was flashing. It is a warning that the system is overheating, not a sign that it is broken. LEAVE IT OFF AND LET IT COOL and then turn it back on and give it a sjot
