So, who has watched the Democratic National Convention? Then again, it would be hard to miss, with almost every news station showing it. It even takes the place of my beloved CSI: New York. Back to the convention.
On Monday, Tuesday, Wendnesday, and Thursday someone spoke about Barack Obama.
On Monday, his wife spoke about Barack Obama as a person. She also spoke about her childhood living on the south side of Chicago and her father and her family.
On Tuesday, Hillary Clinton gave her speech. She talked to her supporters and called them to rally around Barack Obama for president. There were many Hillary Clinton supportors there. The next day in a surprise move, she moved for the convention to elect Barack Obama as their presidential nominee for the Democratic party. Many people were brought to tears, as this is the first time that an African american has been the presidential nominee of a major party.
On Wednesday there were two speakers, Bill Clinton and Joe Biden. I only saw snippets of Bill Clinton's speech, but it was like Hillary's speech, part II. Joe Biden came on later and gave a speech about Barack Obama's readiness to lead. He gave a list of things that Bush, oh sorry, McCain had voted with and Obama had voted against that ended up to be disasterous for this country.
Barack Obama speaks tonight, and is moving his speech out to a stadium of something. I hope it doesn't rain. I'll talk about it tomorrow or late tonight.
