[QUOTE="CentricStorm"]This depends entirely on the methods used to determine which is the cheapest platform, and it does also depend upon what type of gaming setup a user wants.fastrOk, right now, you can get an xbox for $150 dollars for bottom of the line. It can play any xbox 360 game (except for.. ff online? the only game that require a HD that I can think of) it can play any 360 game that will be released in the next 4-5 years depending on it's life span. so.. find a pc for 150 dollars, that can play any game on pc now, and for the next 4-5 years. Like I said the price difference changes significantly according to how the 'cheapest system' is decided. That budget Xbox 360 features severely restricted functionality. Of course console gaming will always be the cheapest if you base it on the low-end versions, but the problem is that console gamers claim that their precious Xbox 360 and PS3 at the same time as saying that they have the full functionality. As you increase functionality, the console option will become more and more expensive until eventually the PC is the cheapest option.

yeah they run bad when your PC is clogged up with viruses and isn't up to the taskchaplainDMKPlease refrain from mentioning viruses or malware et cetera. If your PC ever gets 'clogged up' with viruses then you are definitely doing something wrong. Using Avast free antivirus with the default Windows Firewall I have experienced no virus issues at all.
Of course, but console users normally pay a premium for this, and they of course lose out on the freedom offered by PC gaming. There's no denying that console gaming is more hassle free compared to PC gaming, thats the whole point. With that said the more effort you put into a PC the more you'll get in return, but with a console what you get is what you get, so they both have their upsides and downsides (the PC has more upsides).

consoles are cheaper then PC's.fastrThis depends entirely on the methods used to determine which is the cheapest platform, and it does also depend upon what type of gaming setup a user wants.
your pc has been on for 7 days.. and thats some kind of accomplishment? My PC stays on for months, only going off for power outages.. I don't get your point. Fact is console gaming is much less of a hassle then pc gaming, there is just no way around it. Buy a game, play the game, as simple as that. No dl's, no new drivers, no software comparability issues. MUCH less expensive, it's hooked up to your TV, so bigger and easier playing environment. Easier for split screen because again, TV and couch usually. There are a few PC gamers saying, oh I don't have problems, sooo..? I know people that have 360's from launch that haven't RROD, so I guess that means xbox's don't have RROD right?fastrI explicitly said that the benefit of consoles is ease of use. Anyone in their right mind knows that the technical difficulties that can be experienced on PC are far greater than on consoles (not talking about hardware reliability, that's a completely separate issue). Your post adds nothing to that. This thread is pointless because it tells us nothing that we didn't already know - console gamers pay a premium for a hassle-free gaming experience without needing any technical experience.
PC graphics are highly overrated.
The PC offers better graphics than consoles, albeit only by a moderate amount on the majority of games, for example multi-platform titles. Crysis however offers graphics incredibly far in advance of any other game that is available now or will be available for years to come. When tweaked above the standard game limits, Crysis is photorealistic. This level of visual photorealism can never be beaten; only equalled.By gamespot critics/editors.So yeah mgs4 beat crysis in graphics!!!dakan45Someone just said that they gave the best technical graphics award to Metal Gear Solid 4 because of how good the visuals it had were with respect to the PS3 system's extreme limitations. Had the award been given purely on graphics with no consideration of hardware constraints, Crysis Warhead would have won by far.
[QUOTE="CentricStorm"]Console gamers pay a premium to have an easier experience that 'just works' and caters to their general lack of technical inexperience.lowe0I'm a senior software developer. "technical inexperience" my ass. The incredibly ironic thing is that after reading your message I realised the massive mistake in my post. I accidentally wrote 'their general lack of technical inexperience', effectively saying that they are 'not inexperienced'; in fact saying that they are very technically literate. You misread my post, and replied based upon that misinterpretation. Both of us just failed.
