Guitar Hero 3

On this day, Guitar hero 3 was released in America, while we poor folks of the unimportant gaming territory known as 'Europe' have to wait another month for it. Never before has the difference between release dates been so galling. Well, apart from the fact that we had to wait about six months for Super Paper Mario, and about a year for Digital Devil Saga, and anywhere between six and probably nine months for Persona 3, and about five months for the first Guitar Hero...

Wait a minute.

Gamespot Birthday!

I have now been a member of the Gamespot forums for three years! And in all that time I haven't bothered to write a proper Journal / Blog entry! That isn't going to change now!

Exciting!

Oh Internet

What is that you say? X is amazing, really really amazing, and the type of person who has an interest in the form of media X falls into are sure to love X? Rejoice.

What is this, someone doesn't like X, and is trying their very best to pick X to pieces. Sure, it's an opinion, and they're entitled to it, but they're wrong. I love X. Their complaints may seem valid but they aren't, because I just don't see it. I see, they just resent for some strange reason that X is popular, they're just trying to ruin X for the rest of us. Boo.

X is too popular now, everyone is talking about it. If I like X does that mean I'm falling in line with public opinion? Oh horror of horrors. This isn't supposed to happen. I take my interest in this form of media very seriously, I don't want people thinking I'm an idiot, like a lot of the people who like X. People who like X are sheep. They have to be, it sold too much. I have to find some complaint with it, for the sake of my reputation.

Dilemma. Oh woe, woe is me. I can't keep up with what opinion I'm supposed to have.

Deathnote

I never really cared that much about reading manga but I've heard a lot of fuss about Deathnote. After seeing it in a comic shop I decided to gamble on it, went home and found Amazon to be doing it for a good price and bought all twelve volumes. It's really fantastic, and I'm very impressed by it. Over the past two days I've already got through the first nine volumes, the art is of a high standard, especially when compared to my previous exposure to manga, and the quality of the story and writing is really something. I always thought that plots in things like this were passable rather then compelling, but this clearly proved me wrong.

From what I can tell it was written in 2003 / 2004, so I know I'm not 'in touch' with what's hot, but if anybody can recommend any mangas that are similar in terms of quality and storytelling to this one I'd be interested in hearing about it.

New Blog Post

It's been a while. Everything is mediocre. That's it.

Crackdown is a really good game, now that the Halo 3 beta is over there are going to be a lot of second hand copies turning up, if you find it cheap I recommend picking it up. Haven't had as much fun with a game as I have with Crackdown for a while, seems to me like it's under appreciated.

Also, I hate the way that Gamespot reads contractions as spelling mistakes. This entry is also meaninglessly categorised as 'Fashion'.

Most of my Internet time is spent on Liquid Lurker nowadays. Kcube has been working really hard to improve the forum experience, now we run on VB we can embed video, we have a Zoints social networking feature, as well as an IM service on the forum index with the recently installed Shoutbox.

If you're on my friends list then i hope you're already there, if not it doesn't do any harm to register.
