Eh, who knows. I preordered Battlefield 2 at Best Buy. The release date is supposed to be tomorrow, but like the good ol reliable freaks they are, they won't be selling it until Thursday.
Which is stupid since they have them behind the damn counter already.
So I'm going to go in with my preorder and some money and see if they'll give it to me that day. I hope to hell they do give it to me. Because I haven't had a decent game to play in a while, and I'm at one of those points where I'm playing old games while I wait for the new ones.

Whoa, forget that! Maybe...

Well, I was looking in the Bst Buy flyer, right? And they were advertising an HP comp with an Athlon 64 3200. Then it said, "An open AGP slot lets you upgrade your graphics at will." Which raised a question with me-
I have been searching for a motherboard with the capability to run an athlon 64 but also run an AGP slotted 6800GT. Whenever I tried on newegg, it always came up blank.
I guess I wasn't searching right, because when I looked again on newegg it turned out that the nforce3 series is very capable of running an Athlon 64 and an AGP slotted 6800GT.
Muchly good for me.
So I decided, screw that Crossfire thing, it'll cost me a billion bucks anyway, and built up a new wishlist with this-
80GB hard drive
MX510 optical mouse
512 MB
Athlon 64 3200
Nforce3 Motherboard
Logitech Joystick
Of course, I might consider a crossfire rig still. Though it's much more expensive. So I don't know. Besides, the tech is still new, nobody knows how well it will work, if at all. So whatever.

Wondering about this 'Crossfire' thing

I mean, it would probably be cheaper to get a new motherboard, new processor and new 6800GT than to have to get two graphics cards, new mobo and new processor. Though Crossfire will be cheaper than SLI, it is still a new technology. SLI has problems; Crossfire has different tech working in it, so it's still a shaky proposition. If it doesn't work, then it'll suck.
On a lighter note, I don't plan on focusing on that stuff right now.
Right now I think that I'll chug around 80 or 90 bucks on Tuesday, because I need to buy an extra 512 and Battlefield 2 that day. Hm.

Remember that thing the hippies used to talk about? You know, karma? Well, it looks like it has hit me in the face with a two-by-four. Let me give you the reason why.
A lot of games I at first considered passing up are starting to look like very attractive pasttimes. When I first heard of these games I figured, "Sounds nice, but I probably won't play it".
Maybe I just haven't had a huge selection of stimulus lately, but these titles are starting to look like I'll be spending money on them, whether I am renting or buying them is of no consequence.
Full Auto(X360)- Race around a single city again and again. The twist is, not only do you play in different sections in and around one enormous city, but the guns you strap to your vehicle will make nice use of the explosive scenery in your quest to get in 1st place.
Auto Assault(PC)- Sort of the same thing in therms of strapping guns to your car, but this is an MMO taking place across the entire earth. With three different races to choose from. And battle systems for each aspect of the game.
Perfect Dark Zero(X360)- Convoluted plot lines have always enticed me. This is no different. I really would like to see the combat and the story in this game. Yet I have never played the original Perfect Dark, so I am seriously considering hunting down an old copy and hooking my beloved N64 up again. If I can find it.
Ghost Recon 2 Summit Strike(Xbox)- At first I believed I'd had enough Ghost Recon 2, and that the next one I would look forward to would be #3. Wrong. Previews echoeing features such as less linear and more choices in battle made me put this in my wishlist. I think I might get it. Descriptions of the SOFCAR alone made me into a believer that this could be the real GR2 I've been anticipating- a modular assault rifle not unlike the XM8, but can switch from assault rifle to machine gun to sniper rifle in the heat of battle?
That is muchly anticipating.

Now, one has to wonder....

Now it seems a flurry of games are being made into movies. Tekken, Dead or Alive, Splinter Cell, Hitman, etc.
F'in weird.
Oh yeah, I got promoted in the SoVGAS Union. Cool as hell.
I've wanted to be an officer, of course, but I wrote those articles because I wanted to. Sometimes I wonder if I'm doing this just to get a higher rank, but I really try not to do it for fame and fortune. Though it is attractive, I mostly just try to write articles because I'm a part of the Union. I don't like being selfish, it sucks.
Haven't been over there yet, and I gotta ask Bokista about some topics I want to write about.

Wrap your head around that one, Grasshopper.

I put this book away at the library. It's a new sci-fi novel. It's called 'Fitzpatrick's War' and it's about a guy living in the 26th century. Only get this- before the 2500s, humanity got screwed up along the way- and all of a sudden the internet, electronics, everything got wiped out. Now humankind is just rediscovering steam power and heavier than air airplanes- more than 600 years after they were first created.
Think about it- World War Two happened, man went to the moon, Bill Gates got rich off the internet. 500 years later, when we envision us as a galaxy spanning species with lasers for eyes, we're riding on horses and 'inventing' flintlock rifles.
Wrap your head around that one, Grasshopper.

Ok, not really. But I guess Zyos is going to have a little competition- he's supposedly the best Halo 2 player ever, but a freak from Holland was the victor of the first Global Halo 2 Match- ever.
And Jarvis, I know sometimes you don't read more than this post so I'm hopin' you'll see what I said in the post below this one, 'cuz I'm too lazy to PM you.
Plus I'm going for a 3 mile run soon.

Kung foo chicken. Penny Arcade is awesome.
So Jarvis managed to beat me to the punch on Vin Diesel playing in a movie adaptation of Hitman. He already said he'd like to do another Riddick game, so I'll wait patiently. If he doesn't make another, I will rip Tigon Studios down with my bare teeth.
By the way Jarvis, if you can't get the BF2 demo to me by Friday, I don't care. The retail game will be out the 21st so I'll just buy it when it comes out.
Besides, I don't want to ruin the experience of playing BF2 for the very first time in the full version.
