You stand upon a monolithic bridge which towers over a river of pure mercury; the structure is solid in form but crude in detail and gives the stepper a feeling of decrepitude.

Behind youis a path to safety but in your way are two colossal obelisks with flaming orbs hovering above them, in between these obelisks you see dozens of scorched cadavers still in upright positions as if their will to flee would not let their forms crumble.

Guarding the span of the bridge is a great beast with seven heads, seven horns, and seven crowns upon those horns. It is a behemoth of considerable size but appears to be malformed in such a way that forces it into immobility, yet its girth still spans the width of the bridge so thus is not a problem for the abomination.

The beast utters, "Friend or foe, man or woman, irrelevant in the eyes of the head which is benevolent. Now choose a crown and place it upon your scalp, if you have chosen wisely than you may pass." The beast than lowers its heads so that you may choose a crown from one of the seven.

Head #1 is twisted and wears a wooden crown, Head #2 is scarred and wears a crown of twigs, Head #3 is burned and wears a crown of steel, Head #4 is gaunt and wears a crown of feathers, Head #5 is round and wears a crown of animal organs, Head #6 is smiling and wears a crown of fire, Head #7 is blue and wears a crown of ice.

Yet before you choose a crown you notice a finely polished shield laying far behind the closest cadaver to you, it is clear enough to reflect any image it receives, and next to that shield is a wooden flute with the initial "D. I. R." written across the side.

What do you do?

The real problem is the amount of control it gives us and what it could lead to. When the whole world is reduced to numbers and every aspect of life is manufactured and control, than the quality of thus life is severely reduced. We as flawed beings need to stop trying to control everything we come across because of the potentinal implications. its best to simply let nature take its course in matters because we normally have blind spotscovering the many ramifications that will result from our tampering with the ever increasingly complexity of life. In other words we are taking too much upon ourselfs in terms of control, we simply cannot handle the responsibility of manipulating the process of birth.

Really, just pay your two bits and go along your way, when you try to critize the ferryman and his boat hes going to drown your ass.

I don't like the idea of there being something after death. It seems to diminish the meaning of life. -Sun_Tzu-

Just because life might be infinite in longevity doesn't mean it is without meaning, or perhaps I could be more meaningful.

If you do become a jedi (and you live in the U.S. :D ) join the military.

GHlegend77

Yeah, but I don't think the Army issues lightsabers :P

They really don't, too expensive, Dr. Venture said so!

If there's nothing after death, then that's a great reason to focus on enjoying the time you have while you're still alive. :)

Besides, nothingness = peace.

Shad0ki11

Wrong.

Nothingness = Nothingness.

No peace of mind or clarity, just nothing.

You arrive in a small chamber with four walls and four doors on those walls, one door is large and grandiose, another is small and rotten, the third is covered with locks but they may be unlocked from your end, and the fourth is glass but is too thick to see through.

The chamber itself is made out of well aged stone but was placed together by a crude mason, the air is cold and thin making it hard to breath and a faint ticking sound may be heard coming from all angles.

In the center of the room is a small table with an hour glass standing upon it, the hour glass is half finished pouring its sand to the bottom and you guess that you have roughly ten minutes before it is stops. Alongside the glass are two separate items, one is a rusty revolver with a single bullet in its chambers, the other is a book with nothing but blank pages but on the cover it reads "It betrays the truth."

Looking down you see that you are missing a toe on each foot but the wound has been healed for some time now, and you apparel is naught except for a faint piece of linen covering waist.

What do you do?
